Hello, I would like to introduce myself and my 4 hairless children.
I would like to appolodigse for the many spelling mistakes I will make.
Normally I speak flemish(dutch) and I do speak english quite good but writing it down is an other thing :Worn-out:
Me and my husband adopted our first two kittens in november 2009.
We wanted to have a pet again (our cat had to be put to sleep after his kidney's suddenly failed working) but I was frightened to love someone and then to lose them again so suddenly.
I am quite sick also, so I was also frightened that I might not be capable of looking after a pet like you need to and I would not be able to do all the work that comes with having a pet (dogs and cats lose a lot of hair and I am not aible to do a lot of housework)
So I got the idea to look up information about nude cats and the more I learned about them the more I fell in love with them.
So in november 2009 our Diddl and Yoshi came in to our lives
yoshi

diddl

we have had a lot of worries with them, our diddl did get health problems and he had to undergo a lot of examinations and tests before we finaly found out what the problem was (he has a chronical inflammation of the bowels)
After months of testing and not finding what the problem was the vet thought it was possible that diddl had cancer.
My husband and I talked about getting another kitten so our Yoshi would not be completely alone if our Diddl would die.
When we found out that diddl did not have cancer and would not die suddenly we talked about getting two new kittens, so diddl and yoshi would have two new play mates.
So in may 2010 we adopted Ramses

and in september 2010 we adopted Thor

I don't have a clue how I can post pictures here?
I tried but I think that I made some mistake in my previous post?
If I click on "photobucket video" I can see the pictures but are the pictures not supposed to be visible in my post?
And how can I accomplish that?

All we have to do is click on the "photobucket video" and it takes us to the pics. I am not sure how to use photobucket, so I am of no help.
Yoshi, Diddl, Ramses and Thor are absolutely gorgeous! Welcome to the Lair! I am so glad you joined us! Am looking forward to getting to know you and your cats better. My name is Susi and I have 6 adult sphynx and 6 kittens at the moment, but 5 of the kittens are spoken for and I might keep the last for myself--I haven't advertised her yet because I think she's terribly sweet and very beautiful.
Anway, welcome to our sphynx community!

Hello, Nice to meet you. English is my language and if no one here has figured it out, I am a TERRIBLE speller!
All your children are beautiful. Before I got my first Sphynx, I had the most sweetest siamese named Thor. She passed away from CHF. I miss her so much. Nice to meet you, hope to see more pictures.

Jennifer, I'm so sorry for your loss, it hurts when one of your feline children dies
What is CHF?
Our Diddl has got HCM, he was diagnosed at the age of 1, and his sister yoshi will probably get the same diagnose within now and 2 years.
When we adopted them we never had bought kittens with a breeder and we just believed the breeder on her word when she told us that all the tests from the mother and father of yoshi and diddl were ok.
Later on we found out that the father of yoshi and diddl was diagnosed hcm positive one year before yoshi and diddl were born
So we had them tested when they were one year old and diddl was already positive
Every day we are scaired that diddl will get a hart attack and will die, we don't want to lose him...

Thank you for the lovely comment about yoshi, diddl, ramses and thor  , I think they are beautiful also

Maua Peterbald it's cute when they are kissing  , ah, you are from Poland, I have never been to Poland. We used to travel but since the arrival of the children we stay at home

by the way, admin, thank you for making it so easy to upload pictures
I'm not so good with the computer and on other forums that I visit it's quite a challenge to upload pictures, I have to resize them every time and it's a bit of a struggle.
But here it goes very smoothly , thanks for making it so user friendly

diesel we do our very best to take care of our children.
We have had a lot of worries healthwise during the last year and a half.
Poor diddl had other problems also.
He had to undergo a lot of tests and finally he had to have a biopsy of the bowels.
We found out that he also has a chronical inflammation of the bowels and his pacreas does not function very well on and of...
But we love him so much and I hope he breakes the record of the oldest hmc cat alive
Thank you very much for the gift
Do the bugs mean something?
I can not find the place were you can go and look at them and buy them.
Earlier this evening I found it and now I can't find it anymore

That is heart breaking that your babies have HCM. Just enjoy everyday with them. My Thor had "congestive heart failure" which the heart cant pump oxagyn rich blood to the organs and then the kidney can't get rid of fluids and the there is too much fluids on the organs which make them stop because they work too hard. I think what upset me over that situation was that my siamese was pretty much gone and my vet still wanted to do all these tests and medication. I felt no compassion, I think he just wanted my money. Thor died 2 weeks later.
I hear that with proper medication and check ups, your kitties could live just a bit longer. I hope so. There is some great HCM info on this site if you search around.

I am so so sorry for your loss Jennifer.
In our case the most heart breaking thing is the fact that it did not have to happen.
If the breeder did not breed with a cat who was allready diagnosed with hcm the year before ...
The thing that makes me very angry is the fact that I sat in the living room of the breeder and I told her that I was very frightened to adopt a pet and then see them get sick very quickly and lose them...that I wouldn't be able to handle the pain of losing another pet very quickly
And she sat there with a big fat smile on her face and told me I had nothing to worry about, that all the tests from the parents were fine.
And all of that time she knew that the father of yoshi and diddl was diagnosed hcm positive even before they were conceived.
My husband and I went to a laywer but the laws overhere don't amount to much ...
Animals who are sold overhere are looked at like if they were products, goods.
If you sell a cat it's the same as if you would sell a chair.
It's disguisting and it makes me very angry that a kitten buyer can't do very much in a case like ours.
It's disguisting that a breeder can keep breeding with hcm positive cats...

we are keeping a close eye on our diddl.
We have to go for another hcm test on the 28th of march, to see if it has gotten worse over the last six months
I am scaired and hope that that isn't the case.
Ramses is getting tested at the same time, we hope he is fine (his grandfather got a positive test earlier last year...)
Our yoshi is getting retested in august or september together with our Thor

AAAHHH!!! I am so glad to have someone else with a cat with IBD. Inflammatory Bowel Diease. My Danser has it and has a heart murmur too.
I had such a problem at first and the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong just like your cat. It was so frustrating!!!
We will have to chat about what you do for a feeding and supplements. Share ideas. She is 11years old now.

Anyway, Welcome to the Lair. I hope you love it here.
