Hello from Sphynx central Toronto.

Hi Everyone.

My wife and I recently added two new babies to our family and are looking for a place to learn and share our experiences. We are blessed with two beautiful Kitties. They are brother and sister and are almost 14 weeks old. (I wonder for how long do you count them in weeks) The male is named Kiwi and is a beautiful white pink colour. The female is named Mittens and is a point of pink and black. I would like to get some pictures up although the site does not seem to like my ipad as the pics will not load. My wife and I are looking forward to meeting some fellow Sphynx owners and hearing their stories as well.

Indeed! This site has a good mix of experienced owners, breeders, semi-experienced and new sphynx guardians. I love it! I get my little one in a week, but I have been an active member here since June, just researching and hearing great stories and looking at the cutest photos!

I wondered how you were up to reply to me but I suppose it is much earlier in Australia than it is here. Are there many breeders for Sphynx in Australia?

Ahahah yeah, it's like 6pm here in Australia. Did I mention that there are people here from all around the world? Lol. Actually there are not that many sphynx breeders in Australia, and it's the only hairless cat available here. They have only been in this country since 1996, so not very long! I think we only have something like 20 official breeders who do it properly in the whole country. There are dodgy breeders here too but I am not getting my kitten from them!

Good for you. My wife and searched high and low as well before we chose the right breeder. She was about 4 hours away but now that we have our babies it was worth it. Toronto has lots of breeders. The fact that the breed started here may have something to do with it.

Hi Dustin & Nicole, welcome to the Lair. How nice that you have two at one time. Double the love.

We are glad we got two as they have sooo much energy and love to play and sleep with each other. The reality is though that our breeder would not sell only one to families, you had to buy 2 or no go. Our research showed that for our life styles having two would benefit the kitties more anyway.

Hi, thanks. Yup looking for as much support as we can get. These are not just our first sphinx but our first pets as well. (well first pets for my wife and I together). I can barely keep up with the two of them. Actually our breeder would not sell only one. She felt it is too important for them to have companionship. With my wife and mine busy lives at time I agree.
