I'm needing some positive Lair energy sent to my little man, Henry. He went in for his annual checkup this afternoon and a stage II-III murmur was found. I have calls in to cardiologists in OH, MI, and PA and will be taking him for a scan ASAP. He's already battling so much due to the rough start he had in life, and I will be heartbroken if he has to face even more.

I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm terrified. Any thoughts and prayers for my peanut are appreciated and I'll post an update when I get a scan scheduled.

Oh, Kristin, I'm so sorry you got this news about Henry. I will have you both in my thoughts and prayers. I only want to hear good news. BIG hugs to you both.

Prayers for little Henry Claude! Theres a HCM clinic in Pittsburgh in Oct. All you have to do is email [email protected]
Thanks for the thought! I knew about this but need to get him in sooner. Thankfully, my pet insurance reimburses 80% so my cost will be below $100. The clinic in MI offers scans for $125 a well, so if we go there it'll be super cheap. More concerned with timing at this point though.

And thank you for the well wishes everyone. I really appreciate them as does Henry.

Do not panic. A murmur can be just a murmur. Our Babas was diagnosed with a stage 2 murmur 10 years ago. It never progressed...but as he ages, it would be very normal to change. Even when a cat has a known murmur, our vet said only 50% could develop into HCM. No matter how nervous/afraid you are...just love your baby...and feel free to reach out to those of us who have experienced the ups and downs.Your baby knows nothing different and you will do the best for them. I know too well it is healthier for you and your babies to be happy and enjoy life...do not wait for the negative and have life revolve around that. Just educate yourself and ask you vet every question possible.

Appointment is made! Both boys are getting scanned on Wednesday Oct 1st. I decided to stay as close to home as possible (1 hour away) for ease of follow-up care if needed, and decided to scan Winston as well just to get all the fear out of the way in one day. Thank you all for the support and I'll post how it all goes next Wednesday.

I started thinking positively already. I want to hear good news after the scan. :) Praying that it's not bad news at all.
