He's like a different cat

As some of you may recall, I always had a hard time getting Vito to play. I bought so many different toys to encourage him. He wanted nothing more than to cuddle and be loved. He would never wake us up to say it was breakfast time and the only time he would run around was when he finished using his box.

He did get a little more playful once I started introducing catnip but still wasn't super playful. We got him neutered just over a month ago and he is a huge goofball now. He plays with my feet under the duvet, he goes nuts for the catnip toys that ZiggyStardust sent him. He loves the blanket she sent. If you spread it out he will come running to lay on it and wants you to wrap him up like a baby.

He walks on my face and jumps on me if he's hungry, brings his toys to bed and goes beserk while I try to sleep.

He jumps up on things that he never has before and acts like a kitten. He is 3 years old and it's kind of funny to see him like that.

Is this normal after a neuter?

Wow! I've never heard of that! Doesn't sound like a bad thing though! Just gotta wear him out before bedtime!

Sounds like Luna on a quiet day haha, it's normal cat behaviour I suppose he's feeling younger at the moment without having to worry about women he's just having fun lol

Lol. He never seemed very interested in the ladies, just snugly blankets. Lol. We do have playtime before bed. It's amusing.

It IS normal. I have told a lot of people that their adult males will be more playful after they are neutered. Even if they're like Mr. Vito, and don't spray, yowl or want out all the time, their hormones rule their lives. Without that hormonal influence, he's free to become kittenish again. This happened with my Siamese stud when we had him neutered at age 4. Enjoy your new kitten!

That is such good news!! I also have to take Graddy for his Neuter soon and I keep trying to envision what he is going to be like. If he is even MORE snuggly I won't complain or kitten-ish or whatever! I've only heard good stories about post neutering. Yay Mr Vito! Glad you got your childhood back (in a sense)

I'm planning on getting Lenore fixed within the next 2 weeks, and I hope I have similar results!
