Hey guys,
Been away for a while and lots to tell! - Moved back up to Glasgow in Scotland at the beginning of the year (bit of a long story so i wont get into that one)..and now we're both preparing to move yet again, to the capital Edinburgh. Got myself involved in producing a show for the Festival in August, and thought it would be best to base myself there while working on it. Lots of space - kind of semi industrial studio/workspace, but unfortunately no outside area for the Hermes - i think he may have to be taken out for walkies in the city now..you know, like one of those baby harness affairs where the wee legs drop through wee holes and he dangles in front of you like a proper idiot! Should be interesting, he's quite the character so i doubt it'll take him too long to get used to it - he'll love the attention i'm sure!
A photographer friend of mine just sent me some shots he took of Hermes when we were living in London - they are fantastic - ill post some up!
..In 2012 we're heading to Germany - he's becoming the well travelled kitty..if it carries on like this i'll need to get his hiney stamped like a passport LOL!
Amazing photos! He has such a fabulous personality! I think you should get him a pet pigeon! LOL
Love how he spends so much time standing like a people!
I'm devastated, Hermes is very ill - took him to the vet last week because he was breathing rather heavily. Turns out he's got an enlarged heart and has fluid in his lungs. The vet gave him an antihisamine jab plus diuretic tablets and medicine to increase his circulation - he's suffering bigtime. I don't recognize my cat anymore - how can this be - he's only bloody 4 years old!! The breeder i purchased him from has a lot to answer for i think.. I've hardly slept the last 3 nights - i can't allow him to suffer like this..
I didn't read your most recent post until I had read all your earlier ones..... such happy times with such a fantastic boy, that Hermes! I am SO very sorry to hear about his illness.
I am absolutely NOT an expert, but did your vet discuss hcm? Many of us here on the lair have kitties with HCM, a heart disease, that can progress into illness (congestive heart failure) that sounds much like what your Hermes is going through. My Boris has not progressed and is stable now, but.....I hope others here have good advice for you. My heart goes out to you and Hermes....
