I've been "lurking" here for several days, making sure this was a "safe place" to ask questions that might sound stupid/ignorant whatever. What I've found by reading for hours on end, some of the "old drama", heart breaking stories etc, that indeed it is a safe place! There is so much kindness, wisdom, and tons of love for our kitties... THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

So here I am A WANNABIE for a Sphynx and it seems for ever! I've been researching the breed and I'm ready to have one adopt me soon! Currently I'm owned by a neutered Cornish Rex Dr. Spock(breeder in KY) and a spayed HHL Chinese Crested named Vanna(rescue). My first cornie died of a thrown blood clot in his spine. It was a nightmare at 2am! I ran across your forum research HCM the most hideous disease (to me anyway) and it saddens me to see it has hit the Sphynx community as well as the Cornish Rex! I've been reading the stories of your sick kitties and cry for all of them. Spock sends his headbutts to all his naked cousins(?) :Woo: and to stay strong!

Oh! P.S. So glad to hear you "do raw" Aint it Great! ! !

Hello
Welcome to the site. There is some great info here. Lots of sad stories. I think they all have brought a tear to my eye. I loves Rexs. They are so cute. If I couldn't have a sphynx, I would have a rex. Do you have pictures? No question is a stupid question here.

I'm getting warm fuzzies from all of you... thank you so much!
Here's some pics of Dr Spock and S'Vanna... Doesn't really show the blue Caribbean color of his eyes and Vanna finally had a hair cut way after this picture.. I just wanted to show how well they get along even though Spockie was first in the family and Vanna came in as a rescue, at we think 2-3 yrs old from a back yard breeder (as a breeder) in Ohio...
