Hello all my name is beatrice and I am very intersected in being owned by a naked baby.i have been doing a lot of research and decided coast might was the time to take the plunge and contact a breeder.although the website said there were no kittens available I was pleased to discover there were kittens born last week.i am so very excited.my question is that on the breeders site it says they are cfa and tica recognized but when I went to those sites there was no mention of that breeder.is this unusual or do I just not know where to look? Also if this is an over site our blatant false advertising how can I trust the other statements on the site.such as hcm testing and so forth?i have never purchased a kitten from a breeder and would very much like to conduct business with this one due to their location.i just dont want to make a 1200.00 mistake.thank you all.

You could ask her to send you a picture of their papers, HCM scan verification, etc.
My breeder sent me pictures of the mother and fathers papers- I'm not sure if all breeders are advertised or listed on the cfa/TICA websites.
Also, if they are close to you maybe you could ask if you can come visit the cattery and see the cats??

Just some thoughts :)
Good luck!!

I agree, if the breeder is legit he/she should be happy to show all the tests and other papers. I would personally not purchase a kitten without meeting it either, then you can see how the breeder is raising the kits and look them in the eye. Ask as many questions as you can think of and if it's a good breeder, expect many back as they'll want to know where the kitten will end up.
Good luck!

If the cattery is registered, you can ask the breeder to scan the cattery registration papers. Are her cats registered with both CFA and TICA? She should be able to show you the pedigree or the papers for both the dam and the sire, along with copies of their certified scans on request. A good breeder won't resent those questions.
Welcome to the Lair, by the way. So glad you've joined us!
