Good to hear he's doing better. I would also keep him separated until
he's well. I would even do another wellness check, when you think
he's over the pneumonia. Praying he continues to only get better each
day. Just keep doing what you are.
Good news - Darwin is still doing great. Improving everyday. Today is the first day he'll be home alone, so we're hoping he just stays snuggled in the blankets and doesn't get himself into trouble!
However - the breeder still has not responded to me. I tried to call her vet's office to see if they had any more history on Darwin that I didn't have. They weren't able to release the information to me. They tried to call the breeder and her phone number didn't work.
I'm trying to draft a letter to her, expressing my concerns and how she broke the contract in multiple ways. Help and advise is much appreciated! I'm stressed enough trying to take care of a sick kitty, balance a job and keep calm a stressed out boyfriend who is furious this happened. I feel like I'm sinking.
1. Send her a letter, and threaten legal action. Take her to small claims court and consult a lawyer.
2. Send her a letter and see what happens. I am guessing not much will come of it. If this is your experience and she has other kittens she is selling, I would assume you are not the only one this has happened to.
3. Cut your losses and focus on Darwin. As frustrating as it is and as much as it sucks, you can't get blood from a stone. Do your best to warn others via online reviews and social media pages. Post a buyer beware ad on kijiji or craigslist about her doings.
Have you tried calling her phone number? Is it in service?
@Spoon&Sphynx , Hi Darwin! Sending thoughts that you are feeling better and stronger every day!
Please tell your mummy fwiw, my first sphynx's breeder ghosted on us too after selling a sick kitty to my fiancé who was surprising me for my bday- after having a "friend" meet him on a parking lot for the purchase-
Website gone, phone calls no answer, then disconnected
I knew I wasn't going to get blood from a turnip-
I Found several alias names and reports selling sick kitties...
I let local animal control know the address etc -there are rules -
You can do you best to educate others on complaint board etc like Molly's mom mentioned
Hey everyone! The breeder contacted me and agreed to pay me back. She seemed genuinely concerned for him and said she didn't know he was sick. I certainly feel better knowing that she wasn't blowing me off.
Awesome news. It is a reminder to all that just because we expect an immediate response, it does not always happen. It is a busy time of year for all. I hope she follows up quickly on her word.
Most importantly how is Darwin doing today?
@Catzzzmeow I haven't seen him since this morning :'( He was great when I left. He had just finished breakfast and gotten his medicine. Boyfriend went home to give him his medicine with lunch, so I'll see when I get home from work. Hoping he stayed snuggled and warm all day!
What a relief that the breeder got back to you and is co-operating.
That was good of her that she did that, when I told my breeder about Alfie's HCM at 11 months (Inside the 1 yr period) he disappeared off the face of the planet
Sending best wishes and lair prayers to Darwin that he makes a recovery. We are all rooting for him
@Sheldon13 MUCH better. All his symptoms are gone. He's playing and eating normal. He's met the other kitties and the introductions have gone fairly well. He's doing great
