How attached is your kitty?

General question I guess... how attached is your kitty? My girl Lulu is about 9 months old and I’ve had her since she was about 13 weeks. I swear it’s like having a cross between a newborn and a toddler! She must be on top of me or being held at all times (seriously). If I can’t hold her she’s at my feet. The licking and suckling is almost non-stop too. She will settle in my lap or my arms eventually but she’s just a lot sometimes! Is this normal? I mean I heard Sphynx’s were affectionate but... I feel like I need a baby carrier with her sometimes!

I have a 6 month old Male Otto and he is exactly the same. Always on me licking me and climbing on me especially at night. My other 2 were not as bad but I found them all quite clingy as babies but got less with age. In fact my 18 month old female Luna is so independent now I wish she was more cuddly! It can get bit much at times but enjoy whilst it lasts. My female is much less affectionate now than my boys x

I don’t really have that problem but I know a lot of people have mentioned how clingy their Sphynx is.

It’s a sphynx thing. My pair are in the same room as me about 95% of the time. They greet me at the door and they usually are touching me if they can manage it. Sometimes they sit behind my computer or under my desk chair because mean mommy won’t let them stand on the laptop but other than that if I haven’t seen one of them in about 15 minutes I get really worried I think having more than one helps with the constant needy ness but they are always near me. Velcro kitty is a way to describe the breed.

One of my three is like a band aid, little Esso. He turns 1 yrs in august. I just think it's part of personality and maybe they grow a bit more independent when they get older. Siiri our girl, total daddy's girl, but she enjoys time on her own. The middle dude, Ville, sometimes needs cuddles, sometimes not... Enjoy the time they are kittens, it could change with time...Sounds like heaven though.... {=

Awe, I miss those kitten days! Fluff was part parrot when she was that small. She had to climb up to see the world from my shoulders at every opportunity.

She’s 2.5 now and while she’s always nearby, she’s very independent. It was hard for me (probably more than her) to make sure she felt safe in our home on her own without me. I really worried about separation anxiety as I go through times where I work from home and then I travel a bunch.

Enjoy the snuggles, set up activities when you leave to occupy her and keep her stimulated. Fluff still greets me at the door daily and explores on her own but checks in regularly when we’re both home to tell me all about he adventures. She’s a talker and she’ll snuggle while she’s talking. When she’s done, it a head bump and she’s off again.

lol I haven’t peed alone in years. I have my body guards just in case
Amen. Bodyguards, nurses... I have a cat flap in the bathroom door (their trays are there) and as soon as I go in... *rattle*.
Pixie has always been clingy. She picked me, not the other way around.
The other two were shy for nearly a year and a half, and now they are velcroed as soon as I sit down.
If I get up, they are not far behind. If I then sit down somewhere, I am instantly purralized.
Jez turned into quite the snuggler - but it has taken her nearly 2 years.
