Hey peeps, I'm worried about all of ya'll that were caught up in this nasty Sandy! Can we do a check in please? :)
Starla & I are ok, no power but we are alright. It was like the wind blew & my power was just like "nope, not doin this"
I'm just a tad worried about her because I am being required to work overtime so I left at 10 this am & won't be home until 10PM... :( Its not very cold in my home though, the temp outside is about 65 so I'm thinking she'll be fine with all her blankets I also put a sweater on her before I left. My mom is going to go by my house at about 430 & play with her for an hour for me. We probably won't have power all week, there's a ton of people without power in my area, we are not a priority!
My brother & sister in law didn't lose power so they took my lizard this morning so she will have her heat & lights. I really am going to invest in a generator after this. I don't own, I rent but a portable one so I could at least run my fridge and a space heater if it happens again during the winter! I can't board Starla because she hasn't had all her shots yet (her appt yesterday was obviously cancelled)
I don't really trust my brother & sis in law to take her because my nephew & neice aren't the gentlest kids... I fear they could hurt her accidentally. So she just has to ride it out with me. I think she sleeps all day when I'm gone anyway. I usually get home at 630 so if my mom goes and plays with her from 430-530 then she should nap again & when I get home I'll just play really really hard with her... This week is going to suck but mandatory overtime, I really don't have a choice! I really wish I had power, I wouldn't feel bad about leaving her if I had power...
I really hope you are all ok! LMK

We are good here. Several power surges, but we woke up to still having power and no major damage in the complex...whew. First thing I did was plug Babas' electric blanket back in when I got up :)

Hope you get surprised and they turn your power on faster than you think .

Fairly good here. Thought we were lucky and survived with power. Well, not quite.
My power is starting to fade, strangely enough. Lights don't fully turn on and everything goes out on occasion. Wind has also thankfully died down - sounded like a Halloween special effects tape in my place last night with all the howling wind. All in all though, we didn't have it bad when compared to those farther east.
Hoping everyone is okay.

Hi all. Limited power here using our generator. All schools closed through Wednesday and probably longer. One large pine tree down across the front yard. Things could be a lot worse. Just have to wait out the power outage and hope we can continue to get gasoline to run the generator for as long as necessary. I tried to get to work this morning but downed trees blocked all my local routes and all major parkways that I can get to were closed. I'll be glad when the clean up is over and done with. Jezebel and Finn kept running to the windows when the winds would whip up last night and then they would run around the house like loons before repeating the whole process again. It was pretty funny. Stay safe everyone.

They closed school here till at least Friday! We have power but most of the town does not nor does our state. Our Shore was hit very bad there are roller coasters in the ocean
We lost a few pieces of siding and have a couple of large branches down. Not bad compared to what others are going through.
There is a line for gas for generators it is just crazy, never seen anything like this.

Me and Bea are fine. I never lost power, thank goodness.

I took in a cat I was cat sitting for. I asked her person if she'd prefer that and she did. I didn't want her in her house alone with the wind howling outside. I kept Tabby in my bedroom. Since Bea is still confined to downstairs due to not using the litter box all the time and slept under a blanket the entire storm except for getting up to eat, drink or pee or poop, neither had any idea about the other one. It was nice to have a cat sleeping on my bed, but when Tabby wanted to get one me - oh dear, she is a bit of a chubby short-hair tabby and it hurt. I'm so used to Bea's skinny-ness. Tabby went back home today and I'll finish the cat sitting at her house.

We didn't have any problems, just wind, rain & cold. However our furnace did stop working sometime Monday or Tuesday. Just in time for the coldest nights we've had. We thought it seemed to be getting a little chilly in the house and when I looked at the thermostat yesterday evening I found the temp was much lower than the heat setting. We all hunkered down in the bedroom with a heater and the heated cat beds last night. They should be here to fix it today.

We're a bit shaken up and it's a huge mess here but we are all doing well...lost power on and off but it's on now. Fern and my small dog were really freaked out from the storm...it was so loud it sounded like the house was going to blow away. We lost some trees that then blow over near our cars but luckily no real damage. Glad to hear your ok

We're ok here too. Our power is still out and PP&L has no idea when it will be back on. Hadyn and Sealy are wearing clothes, poor Sealy got stuck with 4 legged jammies and he's not thrilled. He's hiding out in a blankie nest with a thermal cat pad underneath. Hadyn has her own version of a heated blanket - the last 2 orphan kittens! I finally got the hood popped on our truck (it was stuck) so I could jump it with the car to at least be able to charge the phones. I've spent the last 3 hours cleaning and troubleshooting our small gas generator. I'm waiting for these filters to dry (they're over the vents in the car with the heat on) to see if that will finally fix the generator. If not, I'm all out of ideas. It's getting colder in our house, but everyone is fine wearing their jammies and snuggling under blankets. At least the 3G network on my iPhone is working 75% of the time today, yesterday it wasn't even working!

Kids are fine. The wind was crazy - our building (we are on 16 floor of 34 floors building) was swinging like crazy. The water, I collected in bathtub, was making waves... but Kika and Yorik enjoyed the sounds outside and were entertained all monday and bigger half of the night.
Had to move their tree away from window, as I was afraid the glass will give in.

Area surrounding us is without power, but we got lucky and never lost anything - power, internet, water.. all is there. My office building in lower Manhattan got flooded though and I have no idea when I will be able return to work.
Working remotely and hosting some friends from neighborhood who need internet to work..

stay safe people.
