The antibiotic helped bring down Gizzy's fever, but it also never got that high. A fan and a wrapped up ice pack? Wish I could help more!!

DO NOT give a sphynx Metacam. It can kill them. Look it up if you don't believe me.
I found this information over a year ago and I wrote it down. When my three boys were neutered, I wasn't sure if they were going to be given any pain meds, so I wrote a HUGE note on the carrying case with their name(s) on it and "NO KETAMINE" and "NO METACAM" for pain.
Sorry to scare you, but I'd rather you know than keep it to myself...just in case.

Mabey you could call the breeder and ask if any of the other kits from that batch of kittens are having any of these symptoms. Mabey she can give some advice.

Also, what antibiotic is he on? I hope it's not Clavamox because that won't help him! It won't hurt him, but it won't help him! Clavamox has amoxicillin in it and sphynx don't really respond well to it...especially when they are really sick and are in great need of an antibiotic.
What works and is safe for them would be azithromycin which has a few names such as zithromycin, etc. It's the same as Z-Pak that we would use.
I hope he's doing better by the time you are reading this.

Breeder has been in the loop the whole time. He might be going back to her on Friday depending on what happens. Everyone else is fine.

The best thing you can do is keep him hydrated. Do you have any clear pedialyte? Try giving him some with a syringe. You should be able to get them even this time of nite at a wal mart or drug store.
If he seems a little lethargic give him a bit of nutracal to lick off your finger to keep his sugar up.

Get him off the Clavamox and on to the one I mentioned above please. That's a lot of meds to have him on, wow. I'm not sure why the vet put him on Flagyl and Baytril, I guess the vet just wanted to cover all bases. But those aren't used for stuff for the lungs.
Honestly, I know he'll respond well to the zithromycin. If it's bacterial, you'll see improvement with it. If it's viral, it's going to be a slower improvement.
I am waiting for some good news that he's feeling better.

I have some probiotics in the fridge for cats but its not bene bac
They said all they could do is give fluids and I am still able to get food and water into him so I left. I will be at my regular clinic before they open assuming he is still with us. He is not so lethargic that he won't play a little or get up when he thinks I might make adish of food for him.

Oh sweetie I am sending so many positive thoughts to you and Kazoo. I don't know much about sphynxs and clavamox vs. other antibiotics, but I think the folks in here have a lot of experience... all I know is that it can take at least 24 hrs to see improvement on antibiotics. I think if he's willing to get up for food/use the bathroom that is a good sign.. try to keep him cool (I'd probably keep wiping him down with a cold wet rag) and I hope 1) he's showing improvement in the am and 2) you're able to get some answers from your clinic.

I'm so sorry for you hun... I'm thinking of Kazoo and you and hope those meds will show an improvement soon. I agree that eating/drinking/using litter box is a good sign.

aww Kazoo you NEED to get better ! I am praying and hoping he makes a great turn and gets well! I dont know anything about antibiotics and such so i am of no help but 'shoulderpad' and hugs and good vibes and prayers.
