but Finn's autoimmune anemia is improving! He just began his second reduction last night in the dosage of the steroid medication that he's been taking twice daily since January 2nd. Since his red blood cell count has been holding stable in the low end of normal for the past 10 weeks, my vet is now comfortable with trying to gradually wean him off of the medication. I'm so happy that his body seems to be doing some of the work on its own now and I'm praying that he will be able to continue to maintain normal red cell levels at even lower doses of the prednisolone in the future.
