I don’t want to start over again

We suddenly lost our little Zorro to liver failure almost 3 weeks ago. I really thought his heart (statistically) would take him from us and was so terrified to get him neutered. He was a rescue from a breeder that declawed him and let him outside while intact He was so great with our kids and the dogs, never ever heard a hiss or scratched. Luckily we got him a little kitten and she has been the only reason we’re still functioning. Buuuuuuut, we also didn’t want a kitten lol. He kept her entertained and taught her the house rules, a great role model. My ten year old has been really struggling to sleep without a kitty in her arms the whole night and Cream is just too playful at night to stay in their bedroom. It took years to find an adult in our area and I’m struggling to deal with the disappointment of losing our “perfect” cat. We know she needs a friend and are very ready to have a second cat, its just the process that is difficult…

@Poodlemum I am so sorry your angel gained their wings. The loss of these precious babies can feel unbearable. I hope you find peace knowing they are forever in your hearts. For some, starting to just look around for adding to your family can start to heal your heart.

@Poodlemum ,oh my heart, (((Squeeze hugs to your family))) .I am so very sorry baby Zorro got his angel wings. He knew love because of you. I share in the immeasurable hurt losing such a friend, family member. here for you. Remember the love, soo much love. I adopted in my girl's honor. I truly believe our beloveds send us the one to love like they knew in this world. I know personally it's a heartfelt process. bless you to keep your hearts open to love. I always try to help hearts align. never hesitate to start a thread in the adoption section when your hearts feel. please give Cream and your furbabies head kisses from me. I'm so sorry for your loss in Zorro. I know how heartbreaking and devastating that is. I'm sure that you will know when your heart is ready. I have had many losses and found a kitty friend again afterwards. It is not a replacement but you know how much of a hole these kitties leave on our hearts. We are holding space for you in your time of loss and are ready to be excited for when/ if you are ready to open your heart and home again. Lots of hugs and kisses to Cream.
