I got stung... in my eye!

So yesterday I got on my bicycle and before I reached the end of my street, something flew into my eye. Annoyed, I swatted my hand in my eye's direction and thought " wow that's big" followed immediately by "ouch ouch, it burns!!!" I mean, as a regular cycler I often find small bugs reaching my eyes that are just a little irritating, but this was a complete new sensation and I wasn't liking it.
I hopped off my bike and (kinda) screamed out in pain, my boyfriend pulled up beside me and I told him to look at my eye. He removed what he thought looked like a stinger! In the meantime, my eye felt like it was on fire, so it goes without saying we went back home where I started crying involuntarily. It felt really weird, like my body was reacting to the shock or trying to get the poison out of my eye or something.
Luckily, after a few minutes of sobbing, it stopped and the pain slowly subsided too. I was kinda scared my eye would swell up or that I would go blind but after a while I couldn't feel anything anymore.
I still don't know what exactly happened, but boy am I glad I was only a few metres away from my house! Let's hope this was a bizarre, one time type of deal because I certainly don't recommend this to anyone!!

Admin and I have bikes and like to ride, mostly when we go to the beach, because we have beach bike but we sometimes ride around here. Last ride I ran over a rock and I must have hit it just so cause it shot up and almost hit hubby right in the head. Thank god it missed cause I think it would have knocked him out.

Wow!!! Thats crazy! It is probably a good thing that you cried to get your eye flushed out. I hope your eye stays ok

OUch! I hope it feels better! I empathize with you...when I was in grade 2, a girl accidentally hit me in the eye with a batch of paper and scratched my cornea, I remember SOBBING so hard when it happened - it was also involuntary, I couldnt help it! I can't imagine getting stung there! I hope it doesnt happen again!

My eye never swelled and I think I'm probably out of the woods by now. But tomorrow morning I'm back in the saddle to ride to work...

It seems little critters have it out for me this week because today I was in the petstore and we noticed a mouse had escaped its cage and when we tried to catch it, it bit me in my finger

Glad you are feeling better. Good that you
wasn't allergic, I amto wasp, bees, and hornets I have to carry a epi pen with me at all times.
They told me, if I didn't and I got stung, I only had a matter of minutes,
to get to the E.R. My heart would stop and it would more than likely, kill me. So, be careful.

Ouchie Liz! Almost ouchie admin! And sympathy Izmae's mom! Sometimes it seems the world is out to get us. On Sunday, we were walking into a store, and Bob wasn't watching where he was going, the pickup truck in front of him was backing up and the 2 of them were on a collision course! I said twice to watch out and finally yelled at the top of my lungs! Like admin's situation, it was a really close call, but everyone's fine. Of course I need to go to the hairdresser's --there's a lot of gray hair to touch up.

I too am used to the bugs - ride my bike to work everyday (Bikes are a Dutch thing huh? haha)

Swallowing bugs is horrible - if i yawn past a river , there goes a mosquito haha
