phoebe has gotten worse since my last post. she has literally turned into the devil.
:Furious:... she literally attacked me during the night. she kept going under the covers and biting me, digging her claws into me. I woke up to one of her claws lodged into my cheek. i had to literally pull it out, and it bled pretty bad.

i do absolutely nothing to provoke the attacks. I am just lying there. she will pounce up on the bed, then walk up to me and attack me, teeth and nails. She will go under the covers and attack my leg, if i go to remove her she then attacks my arm!

i woke up this morning to her laying next to me purring!!!

i don't know what to do. i have absolutely done nothing wrong to her, i don't know why she is doing this. I just want to cry. i'm so miserable.

last week she was perfectly fine, cuddling with me throughout the night, purring, happy.. now she is psycho!!:Cry::Cry::Cry::Cry:

How old is Phoebe? Is she fixed? Have you talked to your vet or a behaviorist? Those are the only suggestions I have. Weird that it would come on so suddenly.

I think she needs a friend to help wear her out. During the day.you need to play with her enough to wear her out. I got my boy's a later toy that will play for 15 mins. Then turn off. You can also get da bird type toy anything to wear her out. At night, you could lock her out of the room.
Hope this helps

Luci walks up my body when I'm in bed in the morning, she sticks her nose in my eyes and licks my nose. I guess this is her way of letting me know that it's time to get up and feed her. But nothing like what your cat is doing. That's way I said maybe she is hungry

Phoebe is a little over 3 months old.
and her bowl was full and so was her water dish, i checked :(..

I have 3 other cats at home, I just try to seperate them because she is a little aggressive with them, (they are quiet and older so they don't really want to play with her).. im scared to leave them all alone together.

she has toys, and my mother keeps her company during the day.
will maybe getting her fixed help? I have never had a cat be so terrible

she was such an angel, she would playfully nibble before, but recently it got worse, and now this. I tried the trick where i tell her no in a stern voice and give her a toy, but she still goes in for the attack

I don't think she's doing these things with the intent to hurt you. She's either just expending energy and playing rough or she's trying to get your attention to do something for her. Jezebel went through a phase as a kitten where she was pawing and biting at me in the middle of the night. She wanted me to get up and give her wet food at 3 a.m. instead of the usual breakfast feeding at 6 a.m. It drove me crazy, but she finally stopped. It took many nights of me ignoring her and even locking her out of my room when she wouldn't stop in order to change her behavior.

Why not try play with her for half and hour before bed time with a toy that makes her run... like da bird.... to get her totally tired.. I think she is probably up or not going to sleep cause she has a lot of energy then when you move your foot under the covers it looks like a toy for her to play with... I play with Tau every night before bed so that he gets tired...and it works.. and its a great bonding time too...

It sounds to me like she just wants to play play play!! Nipsey loves attacking anything under covers! She probably needs some time to figure out your daily/nightly schedule! If I don't play with Nipsey for about an hour before bed, he will be crazy just as your describing. Get some fun toys for her and play with her before bed time.

We had a Bengal that went into psycho kitty mode too. Tried lots of things, but he just wanted to play really rough. We found that putting on oven mitts, and play rough like he liked did the trick. It got to the point, that he wouldnt play rough unless we had the mitts on. IF he tried, we'd say "no" and go get them on (if we had time to play), he started connecting the dots.

That is her way of playing, she is not doing it to you personally. Its what kittens do. Maybe cut her nails down, and maybe for now at night put her in a different room to play. It sounds like she just wants to play when it is bed time. I play Lucy out for more then an hr before bed time so she is ready to hit the sheets. Good luck.

I am not trying to sound mean but I think you are being a little hard on her. You say you have never had a cat this terrible, that is sad:ThumbsDown: Your baby is a kitten and this is playing for her. She is not out to make you mad or upset with her. She wants to PLAY like all kittens and even babies do. You just have to find a way to let her know that its not ok to play so rough. Mabey someone on here can give some good tips on that. But do not give up on your baby so quick... Also remember she left her mom allot earlier then most sphynx cats are allowed. She may be needing you with her claws like she did her mama when she ate. Just give her some more time.

I'm sorry, its just she has never done this before. She gets played with ALOT. and has alot of attention. I do play with her before its time for bed, but later at 2,3,4am i get woken up by her, and she literally attacks, doesnt seem like she is playing at all. Ive never experienced this before so it is a little scary. I know she probably doesnt mean to hurt me but she is being very vicious, and this has started recently.

Im trying to do all that i can for her, and it is frustrating. I will definitely try out the tips you ladies have given me. Ive just had a terrible day.

Mabey call your vet and get some advice. It wouldn't hurt. I really do hope you find some good advice for your little girl.

You say you have 3 other older cats, plus her. She is a baby. Its like putting a 2 yr old in an old fokes home. She needs someone to PLAY with. Normally she would still have her brothers and sisters. And they play anytime they are awake.
I still say if another kitten is not the answer, then interactive toys would help. Maybe something that is motion activated? I know most don't like cages, but something big enough to keep her in at night, with a litterbox and lots of toys she can pounce and attack and chew on. Maybe a bathroom you don't use at night.

I know she is aggressive with the older cats but if none of them have major health issues that she would hurt, try letting her spend a bit more time with them. Kittens need older cats to train them when it's too much. That and like stated above, more play!

awww its ok you had a Ruff night, I know you care about Your Baby and its scarying you, that she is attacking You.
Maybe she is teethig and that she is not fixed.
She is not going to learn a "NO" in one night, you might have a couple extra Sleepless Mornings ahead of you, before you see improvements.
I know with my lil Man, i had about 2 weeks of sleepless Nights before he learned .
Sphynxes have just so much Energy and are so high strung, but they do Learn Your ways.
Hope your nights get better and she learns that Night time is sleep time until Mommy opens her eyes.
( mine know its not until i get up , no matter or my Husband gets up or not , but they had to learn that too )

Ramona is 5 months old and she demonstrates some pretty rough playing at times, but nothing like you are describing. We'll be Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your direction!

12 weeks is a rotten age for kittens. They have tons of energy and can play really rough and usually their siblings help them learn how rough they can or can’t play. Are your older cats really submissive? Normally adult cats are pretty quick to check kittens if they get too rough. Everyone else suggestions about toys and lots of extra playtime are really good. Make sure she knows she’s hurting you when she bites too hard, say “Ow!†in a high pitched yelp. She just doesn’t know any better and she’s going to have to learn. It’s just so hard to be patient when you’re sleep deprived!

I agree, you need to wear her out before bed. I mean exhaust her, have her on her side panting before you call it quits.

Im sorry you are having such a hard time with your baby. I think you have gotten some good tips to try. In the meantime keep her nails trimmed or try kitty caps. When she does bits a high NO is a good thing to do. Make it sharp and sudden. Good luck, and if you have to put her in the bathroom at night. Im surprised you other cats arent keeping her in line.

Thank all of you for being so kind and helpful. I most definitely don't want to give up on her. I will definitely try to tire her out before bed. And the situation w my other cats is Phoebe wants to play while they could care less. They just get annoyed and leave or jump up high away from her. I will try again this weekend and see if maybe introducing some new toys will make them all want to play. Thank you all again it is much appreciated

I think distraction might be a good idea, or put a shirt on her before bed, I know Luna wont run around or play when shes wearing a shirt lol she will only sit or walk around. If you wear out your baby before you sleep she wont feel as much need to play. But saying that it could also be a psychological disorder, like humans animals can have mental conditions too. Try distractions, even maybe a scratching post near the bed or one of the catit senses interactive toys. Lunas got several and they keep her well occupied when shes up at night. Best of luck
