I woke up to pee pee in Miss Violet's litter box! :)

Uh Oh! I was so happy, but maybe it just hasnt dried cause shes been peeing so much in one spot? Did you put another litter box over the pee spot?

O dear! I like the idea of putting another box where she's naughty peeing @andreanar. At least it's getting better, she did pee in the box. I guess it's always something with a stressed new baby (runny poo, runny nose, won't eat, cries....whatever).

This worked for my rabbit. I just put boxes everywhere he wanted to pee until he got the idea and peed in the boxes. After that, I was able to go back to just one box and move it where I wanted it to be.

With my furry cats, the older cats just taught each new kitten how to use the box. We had a rotating door of kittens (lived on a farm- had several indoor cats and many outdoor cats, many of whom would spend kittenhood indoors until maturity) and very very rarely had accidents with the new kittens.

How is violet doing now? Just wondering if she might need a vet check up - sometimes peeing outside of a litterbox can be their way of them letting you know that something is not quite right. Just a thought if things haven't improved. Hope you have had a better couple of days

At least she's going in her litter box now. :) :) :) Thank goodness.

That's what it took here...the big boys to teach Miss Violet.

Oh wow, you lived on a farm? I wanted to live on a farm when I was a little girl. I was around ppl/and children that had farms quite a bit as a young child. Where did you grow up?

Thank you, Emily. I was actually going to take her to the vet yesterday ... thinking the same exact thing at that point, but then:

I have removed Miss Violet from my daughter's room and put her in my master bathroom with a heater on and her sweater too. Simon jumped in to her litter box and peed. As soon as he did that, Miss Violet copied him and she's been peeing and pooping in her litter box ever since!
She LOVES Simon and follows him everywhere. The first day that I moved her out of my daughter's bedroom, she's been able to sleep in my room ever since!

Oh that is such great news Robin! She just was telling you to let her out with the boys!! Happy for you, I know how distressing it is when your baby is doing the business on the floor!

Heck, I wish that she did her business on the floor! I don't have carpets...so it would have been a breeze to clean up. Grr! LOL
Let me know how you got the smell out of your house and what you used. My daughter's room doesn't smell actually, but I know I need to neutralize every spot so that no animals can ever detect it either! I have always used Nature's Miracle or white vinegar.
