I hear my brother has been keeping you updated but I will be as brief as I seriously cannot cope with the situation very well.
On saturday night my little boy was fine, i woke up Sunday morning and he was quiet and wasn't eating so obviously alarm bells started ringing. We took him to the out of hours emergency vets and they sent him home believing him to be happy and healthy. When we got home he still wasn't eating - we were not happy and within 30 mins he was back to the vets. They advised an x ray of his lungs as his respiratory rate was very slightly fast.
They found from the scan that he had an enlarged heart and a pulmonary oedema, they gave us little to hang on, but he was kept overnight on oxygen. Apparently they are born with these? He was a pet only and didnt come with any papers etc. (I have contacted the breeder and she is having his dad castrated tomorrow.)
When we came to take him back to the daycare vets he was breathing very heavily and sooooo cold, i thought this must be it. He took some comfort in the fact that he was surrounded by his family I think.
Anyway the vets tried everything they could and rang us within an hour to give us the options stating that he had taken a turn for the absolute worse. The options were to take him to the Royal College of Vets in London (1 hours car journey away from my house - they were unsure of whether he would make the journey or not) So it was a bit of a no brainer to put my gorgeous baby boy out of his misery.
When we arrived at the vets he was in the most terrible state, I cant even describe how horrendous it was, he had blood pouring out of his mouth... Yes POURING! I didnt really get a chance to say goodbye cos I told the vet to hurry up and do it cos he was sooooooooooooooooooooooo ill! In fact I thought he was going to die there and then without being euthanised.
So there we have it my beautiful blue eyed boy is no longer with me, he was only 4 and a half months old.
I wish everyone on here the best with all your kitties and will check up from time to time on how youre all doing and look at your beautiful pictures and be jealous in a good way.
Thank you all for the support with getting him and making his transition into my home easy, you're all lovely people.
