I just want to be sure everyone is aware of the alert system here on Sphynxlair, I believe Tapatalk is the biggest culprit of members missing important alerts on their posts, or other members trying to alert them for what ever reason which would look like this @admin the @ followed by the members name alerts a member.

Please be sure to check your settings for "alerts" here. I added a few screen shots, first from a regular desk top computer of what an "alert" looks like when you get it. It's a little red "balloon" at the top of the forum on the right, when hovering your mouse over it will show you all your personal alerts. @Catzzzmeow - I know you are a Tapatalk fan, if you can add anything on how members can be more active in checking their alerts via Tapatalk, please share.

I do have to agree that Tapatalk is not alert friendly. It is much more "dumbed" down than the regular site, but I seem to navigate it fast that way. I still go to the regular site daily to get the function of other features.

Do you check alerts on Tapatalk? If so, how, not sure if I added the right screen shots for Tapatalk above.

When I get an alert off tapatalk it goes to my android notifications. My phone rings like a text with a message in my drop down screen telling me if anyone has alerted me, sent a conversation, etc.

I'm really bad about forgetting to respond right now and am only using tapatalk... I have my notifications turned off, so I should probably turn them back on. I get emails when people tag me or reply to posts I have participated in, and you can do that through the main website.

Ok - I wasn't sure if everyone was aware of the alert system and how it works.

I get notifications on my phone and tablet when using tapatalk. They are both android based but it shows up in my notifications bar. It is good to overview use tips because I forget things from now and then. I really like the tag function.

I don't feel so alone! I know nothing about it.
I love tapatalk. it is the way I am on the Lair the most. And when my computer died last year I could still get on the Lair on my tablet and phone. It took me a bit to get used to the last update.

I like it...lol. I use it 95% of the time and find it easy for me. I just do not like I do not get the alerts to stay up. I think it is a matter of what people are used to.

I've recently realized how much more active I've been on the lair in the past few weeks. Last year when I first started coming to the lair I was a stay at home mom. Then I got a job at Toys R Us for the season then after season I was asked to stay on but I also got engaged so I was planning a wedding and not on lair as much. Then I got a promotion with my job... Even less time as I was training... Got married went right into holiday season.... Now that its slow again at work and I am not planing a wedding or training I have free time again!!! And my notifications were blowing up my phone I had to turn them off! Lol

I have never gotten any alerts to update my tapatalk on my iPad. I did get one on my phone. The newest tapatalk is very different and will take me some time to get used to it I am sure. The newest version does in fact show alert notifications !!!

If anyone is not getting an update for the newest version and wants it, you need to uninstall the application and then reload it and the newest popped up for me. If you do not like change then do not do it...lol. It will take some time to maneuver around because it looks very different. I will try to be up to speed ASAP in case anyone has questions about it.
