Hi Everyone!

A couple of weeks ago I posted about adopting a new kitten! I never did a formal introduction; so better late than never!

Meet Leia!

she was born October 14th and is a Donskoy sphynx.

She is so curious and loving!!!!!! You look at her she starts purring, you walk towards her- she starts purring. You touch her- purring and head butting.

But, we are having some difficulties.
Most of you know I have a male sphynx (Vader) and a male furry baby (Yoda).
she ADORES them, and they her. She is having a lot of distaste for the litter boxes and is favoring my daughters bed and right infront of the back door.
She uses the litter boxes all the time. I watch her. But in the morning when I get up or if my daughter leaves her door open, somehow she sneaks in and does her business.

I have one covered litter box, off the ground by a window. One very large 48 gal storage tub with a top entry hole, and a litter genie 3rd edition. I clean all 3- 2x a day, refresh the litter every other day and empty them out and wash each week.

Someone PLEASE help. I never catch her doing it. I’ve put tinfoil in all of these spots to deter her, sprayed cat deterrent after cleaning the spots with bleach. THANK GOD for mattress covers.

Oh she is a beauty! Have you used an enzymatic cleaner? If not get some...otherwise they often continue to keep going. You can also try Litter Attract. Does she prefer one box over the other? They can be so finicky and she might prefer one style...if so get another one like it perhaps.

I n would say also that you might be changing out your litter too often. With the frequent box washings on top of that it may not be smelling like a bathroom to her anymore. Do you use clumping litter?

Yes to clumping! And when I say refresh I mean I just add new litter mixed in with the old.
No matter what I do it always smells like a litter box in my laundry room which Is the reason behind the frequent cleanings haha

Leia is an adorable beauty. Happy to see she fits in so well with the boys.
Sorry to hear she has litterbox issues. Do you use the same litter and box as the breeder did? Maybe try another litter of different typw of litterbox?

@Vadersmom Official Happy Leia Gotcha. I would experiment with a different style litter box and unscented litter, boxes in a quiet area, (some don't like noise of laundry room ). my girl likes the good pet stuff hidden litter box( covered box, no door flap - I don't use the decorative moss it comes with ). or the catit Jumbo litter box(lid folds back for easy scooping) I always take off door flaps on covered boxes. she may not like litter genie ? or top entry?

a breeder friend recommends anti Icky poo . supposedly 23times stronger than Miracle. I get online $28.. scented and unscented. I actually use the unscented to wash dog beds lol. they have a carpet injector too and some other products you can check their site and search online for pricing.

My vets office carries it too

hugs n head smooches to all paws! following for updates

Leia is a beauty! It's so nice to see how well she has settled in.

I've been very lucky with my two girls, and have never had any litter issues. But there is some great advice above from other members. Hope you find something that works for you.
