Oh, Susi, how awful. You're doing such a great job for your animals, it's very clear how much care and love you give them and yet so much hardship has come your way these past few months. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair. We see/hear awful stories about breeders that don't do right for their cats, and yet none of these things seem to happen to them. I just don't get it!
Please let me know if there's anything you need - even just a shoulder to cry on. We are all here for you.
Has your vet done a PCR or other test to find out what Lulu may be carrying? Or, does she seem to be all better now? I truly hope all of this will be behind you soon. ((hugs))
Thanks, Brooke. No testing yet--when I took everyone to the vet last Wed., I asked him about kennel cough, since I'd heard people talking about it here--he said it wasn't very common in cats, but that it's possible and if that's what it was, the gentamicin would "knock the hell out of it" , so he did the first round of injections there, and I took home enough to give the next two rounds here at home. He said that this should do the trick. If it doesn't, we'll have to do a culture/sensitivity or further testing. Everyone has so much more energy now, and no one is retching/coughing anymore. but I still hear the occasional sneeze, so am glad there is one more injection to go.
I pray that this will take care of all of the trouble.
We all need a rest around here...
