So yesterday I was watching an old episode of Masterchef on my laptop. While it was loading up, I took a shower and ironed my work clothes. When I got back, I found that Vega had managed to start the episode and was sitting on the computer watching....perhaps he hoped that someone would give him shrimp? He had one of his back feet planted firmly on the left click bit on the mouse pad and now it no longer works. Not sure if he jammed it or burned it out or what. Grrrrrr

He was. He was sitting right there staring at the screen, head tipped to the side. I guess the arrow was right over the start button and he stepped on something that started it.

That is too cute! Love the questioning head-to-side-look. Like they're really trying to understand what's going on.

He was like "So which one of you is going to make me shrimp?"

Pharaoh was busy snuggling under the blankets...he didn't want any part of messing up mom's computer

What a respectful boy Pharoah is  I guess Vega is taking life by the ropes and riding full speed :Wink2: tell him I hope he gets some shrimp ONE day

That's funny although the mouse pad button dying is a bit of a bummer. Have you checked the settings, little feet often hit some weird button combos and disable things by accident!

Ra tends to stand on the power switch and turns my laptop off...

Pharaoh likes to pretend he wants shrimp, then he'll turn up his nose and walk away if offered some. He likes cherry Jell-O. (Really? Why?) Vega's had shrimp a few times...sometimes he's so aggressive about it, I swear Amen-Ra's invaded him. That was his favorite too

I'll have to check and see....he started the video, so it's quite possible he messed up the settings as well. Pharaoh managed to make this post on another forum I go to: /AQ

Its worth a try, I've actually disabled most short cuts on mine as Neffy always managed to rotate the display 90 degrees.

:LOL::LOL: Oh yeah, I've stepped away and come back to find new settings and odd things being searched for. Funnest is to hear the dinging of the computer 'cause they're still sitting full on the keyboard.

Is you laptop a HP? My HP laptop will lock if buttons are overpressed. I have to press and hold a part of the track pad in order to reset it.
Does yours do something like that?

Cute!! Cherry Jell-O!! well I'm glad he knows what it tastes like and that Amen-Ra is present in your home. :SweetAngel2: tell him that Dani says to calm it

Vega was just making sure that he learned the recipe for those delicious shrimp so he could be your official taster when you make them!

Darwin is also a laptop sitter and I now close my lid whenever I walk away (changed my settings so that it doesn't go into sleep mode when it is shut). Here is a pic from when was much smaller soaking up the warmth of the keyboard.

Once, he changed something that took me over an hour to figure out. Hopefully, your left mousepad key is simply disabled and not broken.

Yup, my boys have changed my keyboard settings so often I can't keep track anymore and they've turned the pc off or on numerous times too...
I really hope your button regains functionality! Be sure to tell Vega he'll never get shrimp again if he sits on your laptop even once more :Wink2:

:LOL: that and the head tilt is so funny. I'm starting to realize that when I get my sphynx it could cause a lot of issues on my touch screen computer. The screen is so sensitive I don't actually have to touch it to click anything (just get really close). I think I need to learn how to turn that feature off.

Was he bating at the screen to?

I was once watching TV on my ipad in bed and for the LIFE of me, could not figure out why the channel kept changing. I would start on one show, and a few seconds later, the show would change. So, I would change it back to the movie I was watching and settle back in, and then a few seconds later, it would switch to something else random. I was getting SO irritated, and then I saw a flicker, and realized Fluffy's tail kept hitting the screen, and everytime I settled back in, she would too, and her tail would touch the screen again and BOOP, there went the channel again! Interesting things you have to deal with when a naked cat tail can act like a finger and activate a touch screen!

This is a good point...we got issued new laptops at work last year, and they didn't tell us about one of these features. One of them is if you leave your finger on the upper left hand corner of the mouse for too long (like longer than 5 seconds) it disables the entire mouse, and an orange light turns on). Well...no one knew this...so our IT department got calls from almost our entire team before I said "And why is there this little orange light on now that my mouse doesn't work?" and "How do I turn it off?" and "How can I turn it off if I CAN'T USE MY MOUSE???" - turns you you just had to click the little orange light twice in a fast sequence, the light itelf was touch sensitive too! Almost our entire team managed to turn off the mousepads, and IT had no idea how to turn them back on, and we work solely on a computerized charting system, in ORGAN DONATION! Its not like we can mess up! "Sorry, you cannot have your lungs today, my mouse is not working - my cat turned it off".

Hahaha....I love all of our little computer whiz kitties! I googled and found out that if a naughty little elf steps on Fn and F6 at the same time, it will disable the mousepad. Yay it's fixed!
