(not sure where to put this 'cause they're not all sphynx) Of course when it rains it pours.

First we lost Toothy last week, then Ash's Cardio appointment yesterday didn't go as well as hoped - it has progressed from mild to moderately severe. And as soon as we got home from that I found Sammi running a fever, so now we're waiting on lab results for her. Gizzy has started gagging again like he did last year when he had the sore throat. Katie's bad eye looks like it's getting larger. And Tigger goes for his neuter tomorrow.

I'm a bit stressed and depressed.

@ZiggyStardust Oh Shonna, I am so sorry to hear all of the "stuff" going on right now with your crew. It is no wonder you are stressed and depressed. Please just keep sharing with us and we will gladly try to be supportive for afar. Did they change meds with Ash or what is the plan of action?

I hope Sammi's bloodwork comes back clear and it is just a cold. Might be the same with Gizzy and just a URI that an antibiotic can kick.

Tigger will have an easy neuter, but I know one more thing to keep an eye on and we all know how hard to keep a kitty quiet for a few days :(

Did vet ever say there was a chance that Katie's eye could get bigger?

Lair Prayers are sent for all of you babies and I send you a much needed hug. We are here for you.

Speedy recovery wishes for Tigger"s neuter too!

I wonder if Tigger will lay on his back afterwards like my Toby and look down and think .. Hmmm where did they go mum?! :)

Thanks everyone. We only got back some of Sammi's blood work today. She has an elevated white blood cell count, but nothing else is off (gee, where have we run into that before). Her Luke test is negative, but the vet wants to wait on the results of the corona test before putting her on antibiotics. (The vet is covering everything because it's our fill in vet that I can't stand because she was so rude and withheld information when Ziggy died.) I'm not worried about the corona test, even if it is positive. There's no other indication to make me think this is FIP. She and Gizzy are still active and eating, which is good, and Giz isn't running a fever.

We're putting drops in Katie's eyes and watching for any further change. Before we got them Tigger's had gotten large - to the point removal was discussed - but then shrunk again. She's not in pain and is the most active of the bunch, so right now we're "keeping an eye" on it. TigTig's neuter should be the easiest, so we're praying nothing goes wrong tomorrow.

They didn't change any of Ash's meds, just told me to continue watching for CHF and bring him back in 6 months. He's still asymptomatic and has been playing with the kittens. As much as it pains me, I keep telling myself quality over quantity. Right now his quality is good, so we'll keep on doing what we're doing.

Well, Sammi's corona test came back positive, which freaked the fill-in vet convincing her that Sammi has FIP. I had to remind her that a positive corona titre does not mean FIP, just exposure to the virus. None of the rest of her symptoms or tests indicated FIP - no elevated protein, no changes in liver or kidney values, no fluid in the belly, no diarrhea, and no weight loss . I told her that I do realize that it could still be a possibility, but since all she was presenting with right now was an elevated white blood cell count and a fever how 'bout we treat with antibiotics and lets see what happens. After a couple of days on the antibiotic she's doing great and back to playing with the kittens! No fever anymore, and still no weight loss or bloating of the belly. Can't say she doesn't have a bit of diarrhea now, but she is on an antibiotic at the moment so I'm not terribly worried about that. After this round of antibiotics we'll redo a CBC to check her WBC count.

Gizzy, Tigger, and Ash are doing well and we're still keeping an eye on Katie's eye.

I am happy to hear Sammi is feeling better. Had to be stressful trying to tell the fill in vet what they should have known. Bet they are reading up on it tonight! I hope things continue to stay calmer and you bet positive thoughts will continue to go your way!
