Hello all!
I'm sure y'all are getting tired of seeing new post from me Lol. But my question is is it Okay to wipe Chanel down with a warm wet wash cloth every other night or maybe 3 times a week before bed? And bath her every 2 weeks? She just shows dirt so bad!.So has anyone ever used aveeno baby wash for bathing your kitties? It's just d'grease and earth bath is kinda pricey and I'm scared it won't work on her. So far Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo makes matters worse. It seems bathing her with water only works better for her.

I wouldn't more you clean her the more oil she is likely to make which would make her get dirtier but you need to also find what works set a time period to try it for then see how it goes for that time and re-evaluate after

Okay I won't just wanted to ask before had! Is it normal for a pinkie kitten to show more dirt? I mean the day after her bath she looks as if she got into self tanner all over her tummy along with tiger strips! I call myself rinsing her good and drying her good... but she always gets dirty a day after bath!

My pink one shows discoloration after a week but I don't bathe her but every 2 weeks. The D'Grease works no better or no worse than the strawberry cat shampoo I bought at the pet store so I probably won't be spending boo-coo bucks on that again.

I have learned to buy and love bronze colored items lol. Also everything in my house is either washable, wood or leather so that I can keep it clean. My sheets could be washed every day no matter if they have just had a bath, there will surely be oil stains on them come morning.

Grr then what's wrong with my Kitty then! She gets dirty the day after! She never leaves oil stains anywhere ! And has a rusty self tanner look on her chest and tummy along with tiger strips! Am I doing things wrong? She's only 4 months and a few weeks old! Do kittens get dirty faster and when they get older not as bad?

I use the exfoliating gloves ,love those just got them like a month ago . But I use Johnsons baby wash and once a month I use Palmolive pure and clear ,I fill up a pitcher and a big cup while I'm filling up the tub to rinse with and it works out pretty well sometimes theres a little rust but I guess thats life with a Sphynxie. It just sounds like your not rinsing well enough ,try rinsing twice as much? Some members use Dawn dish soap and like it I was actually going to get that when I found the Palmolive pure and clear. I would avoid using wipes on her butt too ,it dries Jebs out and gives him ring around the booty .... lol You'll figure it out dont fret it :)

@Lacie - yes, I use aveeno baby wash with great success! Toby and Claire Bare need a full bath about once a month- in between I wipe their faces with a warm water baby face cloth daily. And a warmed 10 second microwaved unscented baby wipe but I find the warm water cloth works great!

I just ordered hylyt shampoo that was recommended by a Lairian . I will mix in with the aveeno that I have left and see how that works on my oiler Batman and Yodaman :)
I got really super plush microfiber large cloths believe it or not in the auto section of the dollar store! They are super duper soft - light beige- I got a few extras and fold in half to line their cat tree perches and cat beds for easy washing every other day..

I bought a short rough neck tote for their "spa day" I put by the kitchen sink with prefilled pitchers of warm water for rinsing! I really like the exfoliating gloves too many recommended using- helps hold slick kitty!

I have used aveeno baby wash for a few years with great success and no skin reactions.

My baby boy is a red and yes he gets grubby quicker then my black boy but I don't mind it I bath him every second week sometimes every 3rd as he hadn't been a good bather (his most recent one he was a good boy :)) him being grubby doesn't seem to worry him and it doesn't worry me I'd it effected his health then it would but it doesn't I also don't think the grubbiness is so bad it just may look it due to his colouring being so light. What's more important is their health and happiness :)

Yes they totally get dirtier as kittens... now that mine are both over a year they can go 3 weeks between baths.

If you buy the earthbath at a good pet store, you should be able to return it if you don't like it or they have a reaction. My bottle of it (the white one) lasts about a year.

@MollysMom is it the Earthbath Hypo-Allergenic Totally Natural Pet Shampoo? If so I'll just order it from Amazon. I think my problem is over got to get over the fact she will get dirty until it's bath time and I'm going to have to get over it! But I'm prolly not rising her good enough tho...

I would avoid Dawn, they wash wild animals in it maybe 2-4 Times
Then, turn them back out in the wild. It will strip their natural oils and will
make them greasier. Washing them, their face, head everyday with a warm wash cloth
won't make them more greasy. I do Izmae and have for a long time.
You need to do this bathe once a week. If bottom gets dirty, take a cotton ball get
coconut oil on it and clean. Clean ears twice a week. You can put the
Epi optic in one ear at a time let her shake her head, get a warm wash cloth
Put your punky finger in the cloth and clean her ears all you can.
It will get the most of it. Then, put Epi optic on q-tips get the little crevices
that you missed or couldn't don't go into the ear canal.
I think this will help you and keep this routine and you will be better
satisfied. Plus, like others have said rinse, rinse, and rinse.

@Hairless Blessing The thing is she only gets dirty on her underside. I just wish that wiping her down with a wet wash cloth like maybe twice a week wouldn't hurt but I guess it does sadly. I'm going to order Earthbath Hypo-Allergenic Totally Natural Pet Shampoo this weekend I hope others had good results on this!

Well, that's typical of a Sphynx. They will not stay spotless, no matter what you do.
No sphynx will.

Yes, the clear advantages one is the one I use. It has no dyes or perfumes. Just rinse really well :)
