I don't know exactly and think it also depends on the skin type/tone. Light ones may burn faster (but I'm not sure) than black ones.
I never leave them exposed to direct sunlight for longer than 20 or 30 minutes. Usually they don't tend to stay in one place for very long anyway
Never had any issues with sunburn so I must be doing something right!

Thank you for the info: I was not sure how long my lil Yoda can be on sun (we dont have roof on our balcony - he is getting direct sun light)

Your kitties look so comfortable with those harnesses! And the sunshine looks like it would be so warm, bet they love it! When i get my kitty i will get a harness too! It would be kinda funny if the kitty got a tan with theharness lines haha....of course you shouldnt but in my head i laugh at the idea of an animal with a tan i hope many more sunny days for you...or warm with slight overcast for their skins sake

Is that the first time Samael was outside on his harness? They look like they are behaving!
I need a new one for Fluffy. She was being bad the other day, sneaking off, so I put her in her vest harness and tether while we were out. For the longest time I didn't see it move so I thought she finally gave up and laid down to nap... Nope, she escaped and left the harness laying there and was walking away!

Naughty Fluffy
I think I'd have a heart attack if either of them escaped, I live in a pretty busy neighbourhood without any private area/garden to speak of so it would pretty easy for them to get lost or get hit by a car!Samael had been outside a few times before and he's finally starting to like it. He was pretty scared at first but I think the sun won him over
