Probably a weird question but I'm curious and Google didn't give me anything.

We brought home our second Sphynx kitten yesterday. He's 3 months old, absolute sweetheart, we're totally in love with him. We got him from the same breeder as our other Sphynx and love the breeder, she's fantastic. He has the very short, thin fuzz but I've noticed it feels really rough and coarse. Our other Sphynx and every other one I've met have always been so soft. Our other is female so I'm not sure if it's a male thing or some Sphynxes just aren't as soft or if it's something else? It didn't even cross my mind to ask the breeder when we picked him up and of course it's not a big deal unless it's something health related (which I wouldn't expect it to be, we were given his vet records and really trust the breeder and he seems perfectly healthy) but I was wondering if anyone else's Sphynx has coarser fuzz.

Funny how they all feel different. You might ask your breeder just because you are curious. A few years back I started a thread asking if members were blindfolded would they be able to tell the difference between their cats if they had multiple Sphynx and overwhelmingly the answer was yes. All of ours have felt different. Also some of our kittens were a bit fuzzier and lost it in the first year. @Camia

That's really interesting! Thank you! I always heard and read about them being super soft before I got one and she's so soft too so this surprised me. I'm glad it's normal for them to feel different. He has about the same amount of fuzz she did at his age, just a different texture, so I'm sure it's just how his grows. It'll be interesting to see what happens as he gets older.

My boy Wilson is completely bald with very soft skin, but his half sister Kiwi, feels a bit like a Kiwi fruit ! She has some areas that feel a bit rough, some patches of soft "peach fuzz" a a totally bald belly.
