Hi guys,

My kittens are 15 weeks old now, but I’m having issues with their skin. They are still on the same wet/dry food combination that the breeder was giving them but I have introduced a few treats.

Their skin seems to have gotten very dry but oil stained. I have attached photos. I feel like it started when I first tried to clean them with both the pet wipes the breeder sent them with and then just a warm wet microfibre cloth. The next day after the wet cloth they had all orange oil-patches on their skin… I’ve bought a few products to try that I patch tested and have applied a few times - probably not long enough yet - but I haven’t seen any improvement.. I’m confused between leaving alone to see if naturally the oils rebalance or whether I need to intervene with treatment? They do seem slightly more that they’re itching, not in a way they look overly troubled - but I think they’re scratching themselves a little more.

Any advice or experience with skin and cleaning would be greatly appreciated?

We often see this thumb a product is used and not fully rinsed off. It turns that pedant color seriously overnight. I would say do nothing and see if it clears up itself over a few weeks. Just a washcloth with warm water if you must remove any really back areas etc. Let us know how you make out.
