Knocking food out of her bowl all of a sudden?

Hey all!

So my one year old Sphynx has just started knocking her food out of her bowl. She doesn't eat it off the floor (though she will if it's all that's left...). I'm worried about this as it's a new behavior.

A few things have changed, I've started a new relationship and have been out of the house a bit more than I used to be (I'm a HUGE homebody)... but otherwise her food is the same, and she's still eating... it's just wasting SOO much food and I find that really troubling. I am wondering if she is lonely and am considering getting another Sphynx (I have no other pets) to keep her company while I'm away...

Any advice would be super appreciated!!

What kind of food are you feeding? My two did that when they were eating kibble - because they were eating in such an animated way that some was going everywhere :D - I had a clean mat underneath so just poured any spilled food back in to the bowl :)

To me it doesn't sound like a worrying symptom.. but you know your cat. I am always for a 2nd sphynx when mom & dad are out a lot. We did the same thing and it was the best decision we made.

Wow what a beautiful cat! If you think your cat might be bored, then they probably are. Your gut seems to tell you it might be time for your baby to have a friend, whether it is a hairy or hairless friend it will not matter to them. Did you try placing the bowl in another tray? Then you can pour it back in the bowl since it was never really on the floor.

She is probably wanting attention. Just do like others said. Place a mat under the food bowl and put
back into the bowl. Give her all the love, snuggles, and attention, you can, while you are home.
Getting a second sphynx for her wouldn't be a bad idea.
