View attachment 68099 View attachment 68097 View attachment 68097 @Catzzzmeow , Toby still not feeling well, quieter night but has a few sneezes now and then-
Didn't eat a whole bunch obviously because smell effected by stuff nasal passages -

Here was this morning's routine he was not expecting - I never used a pill popper before -

**Wow! Everyone should keep one on hand! My vet gave me this for one for the asking -

I like it - much thinner than those sold on line thet seem more appropriate for dogs -

Toby didn't have time to think amd in no time pill was down - I followed it with a tiny bit of water with the plunger to wash it down- do you do this with Loki?

I wrote their names on top of the bottles and then dosage on the bottle
In case Jimmy ever needs to do it or if I need to use again in the future
( my mom now does it to on her meds bcz labels often fade )

@Yoda mom
That is the kind I have used before.
Glad to hear med went down fast. Hope for continued improvement. It dose take a few days for that kind of med to get into system.

Glad to hear you find it much easier with the popper! Yes we use it with Loki. Babas us s gem and takes his pills in a dollop of wet food. I hope Toby starts pepping up soon.

@Hairless Blessing , last night Toby had his first antihistamine pill Chlor tab my vet recommended 1x a day for two weeks for his reverse sneezing stuffy nasal passages -
He slept through the night stretched out comfy - obviously relief with the
Chlorapheniramine Chlor tabs

Equate: Chlortabs Tablets Antihistamine, 100 Ct - Walmart.com

Wishing he wasn't HCM stage 1 but like you say he can live many healthy happy years

Will keep updated

I sure hope this takes care of the problem.
He should start doing better then.
Glad he had great night.

@GoldHazel , @Catzzzmeow , Toby was sneezing this morning - hopefully that nasal congestion working its way out
I don't think they make kitty Kleenex , So I grabbed Jimmys Nike sock out of the drawer closest to reach in lol

He is not not not good at pilling and drooled from biting the pill this morning -
(I have a broken left index finger, my main pill popper finger! Makes it hard to pill )
A wipe of his face with Jimmys sock followed by a treat and all was forgotten

Did you put the sock back in the drawer? :ROFLMAO:

Glad things are going reasonably well. You're in my thoughts. HUGS HUGS

@Xandria , lol. I could have he missed it when I said I grabbed his sock out of the drawer ( he was watching a hockey game)

Sis you have to put safety good over the top? Do they sit on it?
Toby sits on the dehumidifier during shower time

Wow- Jimmy may like the stainless color for his man cave lol
Amd I really like the lifetime, warranty :)
Thanks for the info!

@Catzzzmeow , thank for checking in on him..
well, Toby hates the pill popper too
But I swear the vets should include one with each prescription -
(I am sure the pharmaceutical reps could work a deal to buy in bulk)

Toby is still not himself but slowly improving - no reverse sneezing at night but a few sneezes in the day-
He is coming out a little more amd shows a little more integers when Macie Bengla does her gutteral yowl -

I miss my fresh Toby antics -
He ate a little more last night but slept in his bed - usually sleeps right next to me with his head on the pilow-
Vet said to give Chlortab pills for two weeks for possible seasonal allergies even if he see,s all better before 2 weeks is up.

How nasal passages must feel a little better because he smelled his Acana grasslands dry kibble and had a few bites .
He is not back to head butting me or jumping on my shoulders yet but it's only been s few days-

I do order him a Honeywell air purifier HPA300 , 5 yr warranty , on rollback at Walmart.com cheaper than samsclub Price too
It was top rated by consumer reports- and filters alone are not $100+ To replace -
Yikes filter pricing became a Buying consideration for all units I considered for Toby
(Lol can you see me telling Jimmy Toby needs a $130 filter on a $200 unit )
At least it is black to match his man cave colors -

We have forced air AC and with an upgraded filter can also act as a whole house purifier -
Currently using a Merv8 but may bump it up
I do change those filters monthly .

So, Toby is improving slowly and has his own bedroom air purifier on the way
Hey, if Clairebare can have my soft Clarisonic brush , Toby can have his own air purifier to try :)
Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Remover, Black - Walmart.com

What we don't do for these nakeds :)

@NinaGato , I noticed improvement the first night with the Chlortabs -
He was out and about moving around on day 2
Not his usual fast freshness but exploring to his window cat tree condo

No reverse sneezing , just 2 or 3 random sneezes in day -

Best under $3 bucks I have in my kitty kit now :)

**Always ** check with your vet before giving any medication to make sure it suits your kitties medical Health status ** there are cautions with underlying heart conditions and make sure it is compatible with any medications your pets may currently take***

Here is the info on 1800 per meds Chlorpheniramine 4mg - Allergy Relief for Dogs & Cats - 1800PetMeds

Equate: Chlortabs Tablets Antihistamine, 100 Ct - Walmart.com

(My vet always suggests over the counter products for the nakeds and fur kids
And calls the antibiotics if necessary to the local Publix pharmacy who will formulate to liquid for free to for the asking - many pet antibiotics free at local people pharmacies - I bring the pharmacy # on hand so we can check meds they if need be .
I think at Walmart has free pet antibiotics too)

@Catzzzmeow , I figured my vet could have easily ran up a bill with every test under the sun -
but she keeps it basic , treats first for symptoms and goes from there - old school - she even gave me her cell# years ago and always texts to flwup

His vet bill was $41 - she gives a multi pet discount too
they surprised me saying I had a $30 credit on file
- $11 vet visit was ok in my book

I figured whst I saved on his bill paid for his air purifier :)

@Yoda mom glad that pill popper worked for you. When you can't fool a cat by hiding meds in a Pill Pocket or a piece of cheese (like in my house)...that's when I knew I had to get a pill popper. I can open mouths and put my fingers in everyone's mouth here except for Liam...I value my 10 fingers too much. LOL

With your bad finger hindering the project of pilling a cat every day, the pill popper was the way to go.

I HOPE you went to a doctor for your finger already.

HUGS

@GoldHazel , yes , Toby is my only Lion too :)
Pill popper is purrfect!
He is out and about a little more today - but his freshness is not all back ... Yet... ;)
The Chlortabs definitely help

Just got in from playing fetch amd my finger popped like sound bswelling down a little but hard when it's on my left dominant hand
I did spray some more Vetericyn VF on it which is helping faster than the antibiotic ointmnet I first tried
Still hen pecking lots of typos and hurts to put too much pressure on it - keeping an eye on it -

Toby still not being my wild again child yet ...

@Yoda mom I'm so glad to hear that Toby is more himself today minus his freshness. I do hope he becomes fresh again so you can be happier. That sounds wrong, but it's right. LOL

Tammy, you aren't going to see a doctor...are you? No plans for that? You are worse than me and I'm pretty darn bad about going to a doctor. LOL

So glad it seems Toby, is starting, to come around.
I didn't know about your finger. You better take care of yourself.

@Yoda mom So happy Toby is feeling better and better. Ouch, your poor finger. I jammed mine once when I was young no remember that swollen, throbbing hot feeling like it was yesterday. I had to have it drained and it was a huge relief. I hope the antibiotics do the trick.

@Yoda mom sooooooooo glad to hear Toby was more like himself today.
Now about you, Tammy, grrrr! Well now that you FINALLY went to the doctor for your finger, I hope you will take your antibiotics until they are finished. You had better make sure that you don't develop a fever. After waiting so darn long to do something about an infected finger...it's a miracle you don't have blood poisoning. Be kind to yourself, Tammy. oxo

@GoldHazel , I will take all my meds -
I know I know - your are right -:)- always helping out with family and fur and nakeds - have to take a minute to take care of me too -

@Yoda mom I'm really, really bad about going to the doctor myself (I've told you that), but you knew this was infected. That's playing with fire. And yes, Miss Tammy, you do have to take a minute for yourself sometimes. :)

Well fresh Toby is getting back to himself! Vet wants Chlortabs for one more week .
Batman getting a Chlortab now too. Seasonal allergies are very bad right now -
Vet said it can be just from opening a door -
The Chlortabs for under $3 bucks are a thumbs up here !

Batman is a wild child even with pill power and wedged in between my legs -
(Makes fresh Toby look like a docile lamb giving a pill)

Doesn't help I have my messed up finger :(
either way, I have to hold the pill popper or hold jaws open with it

Yes! So happy to hear Toby has a good day and is getting back to himself.

But although I am happy about Toby I think I do need to get a little bit angry....why didn't you take care of yourself better? You should have gone to the docter right away! Okay okay I'll stop acting like a concerned mother. I'm really sorry to hear about your finger. Hope it will heal soon. A big hug for you.
