My 8 month old boy will occasionally shake his back legs when he walks like he is shaking off water or they fell asleep or something. He has been doing this the past couple of weeks. Any thoughts?

I notice my kitty does that more in the winter time when she is walking on my hardwood floor. For my kitty I think it has to do with the cold floor.

Well I can’t eliminate abnormalities for you, but I can tell you that most kitties do this because there is litter stuck between their toes. Most of the time they do it most right after they get out of the box.

Cleo
shakes her rear foot when she doesn’t like her food or we want her to do something she doesn’t want to do. There’s a reason her title is Queen. Sigh...

lol, Em does that to show displeasure as well. Food too warm? foot shake. Not allowed to ride shoulder downstairs? foot shake. Banned from eating cheezits? front AND back foot shake. I've never noticed it being tied to litter, but whenever she's done doing her box business she rockets out so fast I imagine any litter crumbs are instantly ejected.

At least she's equal opportunity about it. My last cat would shake his foot whenever my partner so much as spoke to him.

They do this after the toilet, if they have litter stuck in their toes, if they don’t like something, if something feels funny or wet on the floor, if they are itchy, when they finish eating this is not an exhaustive list.
