Lethargic 1 yr old male

Hi!
This is my first ever post so I'm nervous :S. I just bought my first Sphynx cats, two males (not brothers) exactly two weeks ago and they are both very healthy and active 1 year old. But Saturday morning we noticed that one of the cats, the smaller one, was lethargic and had diarrhea. The diarrhea has since stopped, and he's eating and drinking regularly but he is still very tired meanwhile the other male is perfectly fine. I do have two dogs that are very very healthy and love the cats. Ramses, the tired cat, is usually feisty and since Saturday he's just been lounging around. Today he did try to swat at one of the dogs which gave me a sign that he's getting back to his normal feisty self. I was unable to go the vets this weekend because they were closed and I'm here asking for advice on what it might be.
I would prefer handling illnesses naturally if anyone has experienced this before but if not then I will certainly 10000% take him to the vet asap. I really appreciate the feedback!

Did you take them to get vet checked after you got them?

The diarrhea could have been due to stress of a new environment. Is he peeing and pooping normally now? Similar to what the other kit is?

I would try taking him in a room by himself for a bit to observe how he is on his own - does he walk and move around without effort? Is he engaged to play with a toy?

First off, hi & welcome to the Lair!

Ramses could have caught something from moving to a new environment. Kittens often do when they go to their new owners. While adult cats have better immune systems, he could still have a little bug. You mentioned the diarrhea, this can cause him to feel tired due to some dehydration. I would certainly keep an eye on him and if he's not back to his normal self in a day or two, I would take him to the vet and have him checked out.
When was the last time your boys were DE-wormed? It can never hurt to do it if you're not sure what their previous owner did.

And btw, you don't have to be nervous to post here. We're a very friendly bunch and we will always try our best to answer any questions you might have

Ramses is walking around on his own, walking upstairs, to his food and he no longer has diarrhea. He just appears to be very tired and his eyes are squinty. I was planning on bringing the boys to the vet this week and their appointment will be made immediately now. Ramses has gotten better since Saturday he's still sleepy and not really playing with his toy but he'd still jumping around.

Welcome to the family! So glad you have joined us and please never be nervous about asking us anything. That's why admin started the Lair.....so we would have a friendly, knowledgeable place to go for answers, support and just to be with people who "get it". Lethargy is always cause for alarm as it signals something is wrong. Was glad to hear you plan to make a visit to the vet. Keep us posted.

Hi and Welcome! So sorry that your little guy isn't 100%. Please let us know as soon as you can if he is okay and what the vet said. Hopefully it's just a case of a changed environment and nothing more serious. Sending both of them big hugs!! Congrats on both of them
