Hi! My name is Leighanne and I’m the Executive Director of Cole’s Kitty City Cat Sanctuary outside Atlanta. We specialize in kitties with severe injuries, chronic illnesses, and behavioral problems; basically the “unadoptables” by other rescue’s standards.
In January of this year a tiny sweet very sickly sphynx named Moose was surrendered to our rescue because the owners simply could not afford the vet care. We happily took the baby and promised to give her back once she was well. The family loved her immensely.
Unfortunately even with the best care and sparing no expense on tests and treatments of all kinds, our dear Moose passed away just one month shy of her first birthday due to an assumed heart attack.
Myself, her family and our community of followers were devastated. With Moose we would get one thing cleared up and something else would go wrong…but we always held out hope that she’d overcome her issues. At least enough to live a normal life for a few years.
We absolutely loved having a sphynx in the sanctuary. We miss it terribly and while we certainly would never purchase from a breeder, we thought we would post in this forum that we are here and able to take in rescue sphynx at any time. Our rescue is well funded and we welcome even the toughest medical cases.
Thanks for reading!
