You are right, Ckutkuhn. This was posted here at the end of March. I didn't remember this listing on Petfinder and thought it was fairly new. My bad.

It makes me wonder too. Maybe they pulled the ad when they found her a home, but relisted when plans fell through.

I have called on this little girl back in April, she is only about 20 min. from us. Well I was told that I was not worthy to adopt her because of my cats are not fixed, so I kind of see her point but I was honest on the application and before I filled it out the lady said that she has a list of people wanting this kitty but she was not happy with any of them. She is now fixed and I wanted to give her a great home. She said is fine with dogs and kids just needs someone that has experience with the breed.
I just do not get some of these adoption places? Seems like sometimes they just really do not want to find homes for them. My neighbor went to a local shelter to adopt 2 kittens and they had a lot of them there but because she had kids under 12 years old they said they would not let he adopt, so yes she went to another place and said she had no kids and yes walked out with 2 little kittens.
Lets hope that Lizzie finds a forever home soon!

That is crazy. If she is now fixed and that isnt a worrysome factor now and you have tons of experience with the breed then what is the big deal?! Did you tell her you could provide a good dozen or more references!! lol

Some of these places are crazy.
They refuse to adopt out if you have a unaltered cat.
I hate to say this but sometimes the pounds and rescues create their own problems.
When my dad adopted his dog there were over 300 questions on the form.
Many of my friends will not adopt from pounds because of the bs and they would be great homes.

After our first Sphynx died the other 2 didn't know what to do with themselves so I went to a small cat rescue who specialized in placing senior kitties in retirement homes to look for a warm snuggle buddy. While I filled out the application, I overshared with the woman that my remaining 2 boys were overdue for their shots (by a month) because I had cancelled the appointment I had for the day after Zulie was unexpectedly put to sleep. The woman halted the process right there. Even after I explained that I had an appointment for the following week and would return with my receipt as well as offered to call my vet, she told me that she would never place a cat with a person who "didn't seek routine medical care in a timely fashion." I felt like I had my heart ripped out.

Yeah, I applied for this girl before I got my sweet Lyra, and they want people with breed experience. If I was ready for another I would re-apply, now that I have experience. ^_~ I want a male next though. I hope a member here is able to adopt her soon.

The one and only time I adopted from our pound for a puppy I only had to answer 5 basic questions or so, nothing of my current pets at home and I ended up with a puppy (Onyx - RIP lil one) with parvo that didn't make it 3 days before christmas!! She fell sick the day after I brought her home. Oh it was awful, they gave me my money back as I paid rather hefty to receive her but it was more heartbreaking than anything. I volunteered there for several months before and the people there have the animals best interest at heart but Ohio requirements for our pounds are very low. The state is more interested in the money.

Wow,,,I could only wish for something half has demanding for something like that in Ohio. I understand your circumstance and would think they would cut you a bit of slack but I'm sorry it worked out otherwise.

Yep, I applied for this girl prob few months ago. This ad has been on Petfinder and now on ebayclassifieds for so long. So anws, I filled the form and also was writing truth about my puppy, at that time our Jack was like 8 months and we still didnt want fix him yet (waiting when he'll turn 1 yr) so I wrote he wasn't fixed yet got a replay that they don't allow to adopt if family has not fixed animals. Like...whatever. Its been so long, what kind of people they looking for? So many good people searching for a cat and poor cat doesn't have a permanent people around and love it could get makes me sad

I won't adopt from shelters ect. because I hate jumping through hoops and whatnot. This is a classic example of that. I have only ever gotten one cat from a shelter and I LIED on the application because I knew what they wanted to hear. They never checked. Shrugs. That cat died at age 10 though from kidney issues.

No worries. Things worked out in the end. I went to the humane society where we found a huge orange tabby male that liked to sleep all day with our hairless boys. There was no issue at all. After they spoke to our vet office, we adopted Hagrid and took him home the same day.
