I have been lurking and looking for a hairless for YEARS. My 11yr old son keeps asking if/when and over the years I've slowly become disillusioned if I'll ever get one.

I would prefer a girl but beggars cants be choosers. I'll keep looking but it's rough.

@OldHotness , stay active, stay positive, check often. Several of us have adopted from members, i have all adoptees and always try to help hearts align. Be sure to read the sphynx information center. Great fraud tips link thread , helped me from near scams in cyberworld outside sphynxlair. All paws crossed for you and your son the sphynx stars align

Are you looking specifically for a rescue/adoption, or would you be interested in a cat from a (really good) breeder?
Either or. I definitely don't have 2 grand to get one from a breeder. 250, I can most definitely handle that. My son has been asking for years. He's 11 now. I'll keep checking every few days. Hopefully I'll get lucky

@zoeology , fyi, per site rules, there is no selling of kitties unless you are looking to rehome and must post a rehome post for admin to approve with a maximum rehoming fee of $250 or less.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that. I'm not a breeder, I just know a really good one that had recent litters. My bad!!!

Sphynx are not necessarily low maintenance cats and they are prone to a variety of medical issues, particularly any sphynx that you'd find in rescues because an ethical reputable breeder would never let one of their cats end up in a rescue. Any sphynx found in rescue is all but guaranteed to be backyard bred without regard to health. If you can't afford to purchase a cat, you can't afford to medically take care of it if something happens either. Not that there's anything at all wrong with rescuing, but it sounds like your motivation for pursuing a rescue is primarily financially motivated. I'd reconsider whether or not you're actually in a position to take on a pet that can have very expensive medical needs.
