Looking to adopt a hairless friend!

Hello all. I have never owned a sphynx (or a cat for that matter). I am a happy dog owner, though my pup is definitely more like cat than dog (Italian greyhound, sticks to me like Velcro, enjoys sleeping nuzzled next to my face, enjoys sunbathing and playing with hair ties). I never considered adopting a cat given my allergies, but somewhat recently met a sphynx and didn’t have the red itchy eyed sneezing attack that I normally do! Ever since then, I’ve been researching these cute funny guys, and have completely fallen in love with their personalities! I would love to adopt one of these naked friends, but one that would be good around small playful dogs (15 pounds, very friendly, but will definitely try to be best friends with any animal I bring into my home so this is a must). My dog wears fleece onsies 3/4 of the year, so I am already prepared for that. My mom would love to have an excuse to sew her new grandcat a whole new winter wardrobe. I live in Chicago, but would be willing to drive or fly to pick up any cat I plan to adopt. Please feel free to respond to this if you have or know of any available cats! This seems like a great community. Hoping to adopt rather than shop if a possibility

Being in Chicago, you could check Speciality Purebreed Cat Rescue Home based out of Milwaukee. I rescued my second Sphynx from them 15 years ago - he's lounging in front of my fireplace now. . It took me a while to get him but was worth the wait. They do a great job of knowing what the kitty may be compatible with with respect to other pets.
