Happy January all! We have a healthy, trained, and friendly Bengal and a Sphinx. We have recently moved to a bigger place and now can open our doors and hearts to another baby.
We prefer to adopt rather than buy because I believe there are too many animals that are in need of a home and saving from kill-shelters or unforeseen situations&unhealthy conditions... I have worked with various shelters and animal organizations throughout my life (some in Europe, some in CA, Malaysia, and NY).
A little of pre-history: we have adopted our Bengal in NY shelter (not knowing actually that it was a Bengal!) and it took me some time to study animal behaviour to make the process of introduction of a new cat as smooth as possible. The first weeks were rough but even though we lived in a tiny apartment at the time, we would have never given it back to the shelter. I firmly believe we are responsible for those that we save/adopt.
If the available cat is not in FL, I would consider driving.
