Looking to adopt in North Carolina

Hi everyone, my name is Stephanie and I'm looking for a breeder or anyone close by needing to find their baby a home. We have 2 (human)boys ages 4 and 7. We are a cat loving family that would absolutely love to have a hairless baby!! We we're supposed to get Blu last weekend but there were shipping issues and gotcha day was moved to this labor day weekend. We'll now our plans for having Blu fell through....we haven't told our boys yet which I'm not looking forward to doing. So if anyone knows of a breeder near NC or anyone needing to rehome their baby, please let me know! Thank you!

@Toa and Ross, thank you...no he's not coming. I found a sphynx in Asheville, NC this morning and I contacted the owner. She is very nice and informed me about everything going on. Evidently her and her husband started going back to school and her two kids are in elementary school so now he's been peeing in her son's closet. She had just realized it when I mentioned if she thought it was because all the change in the home so she thinks that why he's doing it now. She's taken him to the vet for blood testing and everything came back normal. I talked to my husband about it and he's a little skeptical about getting him when he's been peeing in her house and I'm sure if we get him, he'll do it here too with the new change. What do y'all think? Will he stop? Is it peeing or spraying? She said he's neutered....I don't know the difference between peeing and spraying.

Sphynx do need a lot of attention and peeing somewhere he shouldn't is a behavioral problem that a sphynx can show when he gets to less attention.
If he's only doing this for a short period, I think he can stop doing it when he gets more attention in his new home.

Ok that makes sense, her breeder mentioned that she should rehome him to a more calm environment being that they have a 7 and 9 year old. I guess they are thinking it's too loud and too much going on may be? But my question is shouldn't he be used to that by now since she's had him since he was a kitten and now he's 3 yrs old. Since they have gone back to school and he's home alone a lot, then his issue probably IS lack of attention! He would get loads of attention at my house!! Would you take him in considering all this going on and you have new carpet? I don't know what to do....

Fwiw, my mom adopted a kitty that went outside the box

I got her kitty switched to dr elseys precious cat litter unscented in the blue bag and a different type litter box and no plastic bag liner --- and viola! No more outside box peeing

No guarantees but something I wanted to pass along -
Sometimes it can just be litter type, litter box , litter box location and # of cats vs boxes, scooping clean all the time ,
Outside kitties visiting / visual thru window..

And sometimes they never stop spraying or peeing

I also think kitty box boot camp is a good to retrain with positive reinforcement-
No free roaming until kitty comfy in own environment and using box
Give treats and verbal praise immediately after kitty uses box-
I trained a retired stud Bengal I adopted this way years ago-

Lots to think about.. My moms cat is night and day difference with just change of litter and box type without using a plastic liner- wash and change out at least every 3-5 days and be sure to scoop plenty

you can contact breeders and interview for their retired kitties -
And get on a waiting list- I waited just a few months and adopted wonderful retired after just 1 litter girl- raised underfoot , HCM scanned regularity and all papers

I thought you might want to buy a kitten. I know a excellent breeder
here in Tennessee. I was going to send you info, privately.
We aren't supposed to mention Breeders names out in the open.
Just in private conversation. Just keep checking here in the rescue section.
Because, when they, are listed, they go fast.
Have you ever thought about making monthly payments, to a breeder
until, your baby, is ready to come home. I think there is breeder's
that will do this. Just another option.

I've got awesome news! I'm getting a Russian peterbald!! I'm picking her up Tuesday, she was actually the first kitty I contacted about but I didn't get anymore responses from her for next few days so I thought that was done with. Well she finally got a hold of me today, now everything is great and I'm getting her Tuesday She's 8 months old named Ivy :-D
