2 weeks??? WOW!!! Tomorrow will be 1 week for Noxi & I was starting to wonder. Your story gives me hope! I really feel that she is nearby her house, maybe under a deck or porch, or in the shrubs. Not really sure why I get that hunch, though. Sleepyhead, do you know if has Julie tried the litter trick?

They usually do hide close by and do conceal themselves very well. Dang I hope she shows herself.

A few years ago we had family visiting and one of my cats escaped. She was gone for at least a week, if not a little more. Thankfully, a neighbor just down the street from us found our cat in her basement hiding behind all her storage bins.

So, it also helps to have the neighbors check their homes thoroughly....you just never know. Cats can fit through any tiny space if they really want to. I really hope they find Noxi soon, safe and sound.

In my experiences and all the lost cat stories people have told me over the years, you really have to get out and LOOK.They are simply too scared most of the time to wander around much. I suppose hunger would eventally motivate them, but you can literally be ten feet away and unless you happen to hear them cry, you could walk by 20 times

Its almost like they shut down from fear. So I always tell people to look in and under EVERYTHING, because 9 times out of 10 they just won't come running when they hear you ( which would make it alot easier, which is why they probably won't do it) Good Luck and I hope she is found :)

This is exactly what happened with my husband's friend's lost indoor cat. They suspect she had been hiding not much more that 15 feet from their yard under a neighbor's shed too terrrifed to move. I beg Noxi's owners to try the kitty litter luring trick. If they're worried about their neighbors seeing, then they could sprinkle it after dark. Their cat came out of hiding within a day or so after doing this so they are convinced that the familiar smell gave her the confidence to investigate. Plus they had put out her food and water dishes too.
