So, this past week I made the decision to switch to a raw diet for Naruu. Not only do I want the health benefits but I was sick of having to wipe Naruu's little baby butt every time she poops:arghh: I was feeding her Wellness Core Kitten canned and kibble, which she loved but her poops were always just mushy enough to make a mess. I started out with a bag of Primal Nuggets in turkey and she took to them right away, she likes her food cold lol
but I had to play around with portions the first couple days and I think we've settled with 2 nuggets 3x a day...so about 6oz of food a day. Her meals are pretty spaced out due to my work schedule but it works for us and she's really only ever going 9 hours at most between a meal. After look at cost effectiveness and the fact that I wanted to do this anyway, I've decided to make my own raw so I ordered BitR the other day and when that comes in I'll be off to the butcher shop. Thankfully, our local butcher shop is family owned and all about raw food for pets so they'll do whatever I need. I can't believe the difference in her poops since switching to raw:wideyed:! Now, she really only poops once or twice a day AND it's solid, nice solid little poops...a whole lot less than when she was on commercial food too. And where the heck did the smell go?! Her poop literally does not smell unless you really put it up to your nose! I'm so glad I made the switch, I love it!! haha
I am curious, what do ya'll do to keep their teeth clean other than brushing? I've always heard that cats need kibble to go along with wet food so they have something crunchy to clean their teeth as they eat...maybe this is an old wives tale?!
Attaching a couple new pictures Her favorite spot to sleep upstairs is underneath the freezer door because warm air always blows out there at the bottom so she squishes herself in there as much as possible! When downstairs, she's taken to sitting on top of the internet wireless router because it's also warm haha.
