Maimer of lizards (eww)

Last week, for the first time ever, Berlin caught something bigger than a fly. How do I know this? Because I wondered into the living room and found the poor thing there on the floor - half a fat lizard (the front half, alas) looking up at my with its accusing little eyes ('Look at what YOUR cat did to me!'). Much to my immense horror it was still alive and and trying to drag itself away, so I had to to put it out of its misery. Berlin, give me stinky poops, gooey eyes and ear wax any day, but no more half lizards please.

Anyone else have a fierce little hunter/huntress?

My Red used to collect newts from next doors pond (they are actually an endangered species here!!) Luckily he didnt chew them, I just used to find stunned, shocked ones in the front room! I had to pick them up and take them back to the neighbours!
I do also remember one morning coming downstairs to answer the phone and just seeing feathers EVERYWHERE! I'd had a late night and really couldn't deal with it in the state I was in, took phonecall and went back to bed hoping it was all a bad dream. Got up later in the day to find gutted pigeon in the hall corner, no idea who it was, but I swear this bird was bigger than any of my boys!!!

My sphynx has never had any chance to catch anything except insects so, no...
But my outdoors cats before dragged home (and sometimes in) mice, rats, squirrels, rabbits and all kinds of birds they could catch.

It's just what cats do, I don't mind a bit except when they got a big bird inside while I slept and I woke up to a home full of feathers

Dead half Lizard is one thing, but ALIVE HALF LIZARD?!?!? I wonder if the other half was crawling away too?!

Cats get into some weird stuff, luckily Roobs only like bugs...We have pet rats and he thinks there creepy

Pooner loves to hunt! We never have anything in the house besides a spider or fly, poor little guy He'd love it if we had lizards to something more exciting to hunt, although I wouldn't

Eeeewwww! Poor little lizard!

When I was younger, we had a stray tom cat that we fed. Well, one day we opened the door and he came racing in with a LIVE BIRD in his mouth. Of course, he let it go INSIDE the house, so we had a bird flying around and 3 cats chasing it! Talk about a 3 ring circus trying to get the bird OUT and keep the cats IN!

Other than that, the usual bird or mouse laid lovingly on my porch by a very proud fur kitty!

We have a mouse amongst us in this house that has been living under the cabinets. My kitties sit at all the little cracks and creavices (old house) hoping for him to come out so they can play with him. The one day he did come out Snuffie gave him a good smack and SoBe sat and watched. I'm sure if Snuffie ever did injure him she would torture him like crazy. I'm not looking forward to that day.
When it was warmer we would get the rare house fly or these strange black flying bettle like bugs, SoBe would certainly catch them and eat them. It was so gross but they didn't make her sick and its helping to keep the house bug free so as long as she doesn't eat too many I guess I'll let her have at it. Extra protien I guess.

I would hate to find a half eaten ALIVE lizard. OMG!! Poor thing. I don't even want to know how you had to end up ending his misery. I do also wonder what happened to the other half! lol
Hopefully that will be the last surprise they bring you for a while!! lol

Ew ew ew, a live half lizard trying to crawl away! Ew ew! Excuse me while I squeal and cringe. Luckily Pedda would never do that to me, she can't even catch a mouse when it runs under her tummy (true story).

I have a pretty strong stomach for gross things. I think seeing a half of a lizard attempting to crawl away would have made me gag. Then to have to put it out of its misery?! Uuuggghhh. <shudder>

Blue is quite the hunter but nothing bigger than bugs so far. Part of me always wondered what he'd do if he found a mouse up at the cabin, but after reading this thread, I hope I never find out! Geez!! I never even thought of them eating part of it!!!

OMG that is so horrible I would probably cry!!! Poor lizard!
I get hysterical whenever my cats catch a mouse and its still alive, because I am so worried about the poor mouse getting hurt. Usually I find them gutted in the middle of the floor, or just heads or livers lying around...which wouldnt bother me except I always seem to find them by slipping in em....ew..

HAHA love these stories! I have a Crested Gecko and Amaryllis is determined to let him out of his terrarium to "play" with him. She has let him out twice and he has now dropped his tail and they dont grow back on cresteds. I will live vicariously through the rest of you with the hunters.
