I know this is an old thread. I have had all of my pets microchipped since 2005. (Dogs and cats) never had an issue. I previously worked at a vet hospital and have never seen any issues with them either. It’s the first thing shelters, vets and police officers check for when they find a “stray” as long as it’s registered the pet is then returned to their owners. I highly recommend them.I want to have Toni microchipped but after reading all of this above I am squeeming up a wall. Most of this thread is from over 10 years ago. Anyone want to weigh in now?
Thank you so much. Toni is very active, curious, quick and has alot of energy. She had been outside in her previous home so she probably would not be afraid of it. Were she not a hairless baby I would have not had trepidation. Recently there was an article in the local paper about a cat who was returned to her owner and the events leading ip to it—-and it turned out to be a Sphynx. Im glad you agree with my first instinct!!I know this is an old thread. I have had all of my pets microchipped since 2005. (Dogs and cats) never had an issue. Sounds like a good idea if she’s curious and quick. Darting out front doors is scary for me. Aggie was always slow to try to go outside. I could keep an eye on her. Although she once got out and scared me half to death. She went into the garage something must’ve spooked her. Thankfully I was able to find her quickly.Thank you so much. Ouch. This is part of NYC but there is a large cemetery behind my house with lots of space to find birds and other interesting critters. I was worried ablut how old i was when we adopted Toni—her getting out would increase my age twofold!!!Sounds like a good idea if she’s curious and quick. Darting out front doors is scary for me.
