I posted a while ago (I don't post very often, I'm a lurker) about my kitty Sawyer having a peeing everywhere problem. I adopted him with the problem, thinking I could fix it, and I did, for about a year. It was a wonderful year. Then... it started up again, worse. He lost weight, and he started peeing his bed. I brought him to the vet a couple times, with the final result being that he had CRF. He was only five years old. :( I tried to get his weight back up and get him stable, all the while having mountains of cat-pee laundry. But one morning I woke up to him yowling, and he was twitching and leaking out of his rear end. I called the vet crying because I knew it was time to let him go, he'd been losing weight for months and kept crashing, and not responding to attempts to get him stable. I will never get the sight of the needle going into his vein out of my head. I knew some of you would understand how I felt. The saddest thing right now is that he left behind a sister, Kilo (same cattery, not same litter, so not really sister and brother but same thing in essence). She wanders around the house meowing, looking for him. How do you explain that he's never coming back? It breaks my heart. I wonder if I should get another kitty for her, so she has company. She's never lived without Sawyer in all her life. All of this hurts. Anyway, wanted to share with people who probably understand. Thank you for reading!

It ever so hard to lose our sphynx companions, or any pet friend for that matter, so sorry for your loss - RIP Sawyer. If you are ready, and you will know, you and Kilo may need another naked around. Perhaps that's what Sawyer wants for you and Kilo.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I agree if you are questioning if you should get another companion then it might just be the right thing for all of you, especially if your other baby is still showing signs of stress from missing their friend. Naked or furry, enjoy your journey.

I'm so sorry about Sawyer. You were such an amazing sphynx mom to adopt him and do everything you could do to help with his issues.

It is a shame that Kilo has lost her brother, but you should get another sphynx when you feel yourself in your heart that you are ready to.

We are all here for you to help you through this tough time ::hugs::

I wish I had the words to take away the hurt.. I am so so sorry for your loss of Sawyer.. Sending you and Kilo big {{Hugs}}} it is obvious Sawyer had so much Love and care.. He had the best life filled with all your love...

I recently lost my ^Yoda cat^ and it still hurts.. Jimmy tells me no one could have loved and cared for her during her sickness more than me... I see that in you with your Sawyer.. I hold onto the way she warmed my heart..

My bengal cat Macie screamed and looked for her... I talked to her letting her know her friend is with the bridge angels flying free and whole... And she would send us an angel to love in her memory and honor because she would not want to see us sad. She would want me to open my heart and smile again and share the love she knew in this world.

I believe they send us "the one" .... Fur or nekked.. They chose ...

Hold in your heart all the good of Sawyer-- their lives touch us and we are never the same..

Fly free and high with bridge angels Sawyer.. You are so loved

Thanks so much for all the support guys! I really needed those virtual hugs. Yoda Mom, sorry to hear about your baby :(, I guess it's something we all have to go through and it never gets easier. And that Sawyer would send me the new kitty that's supposed to be in my life is exactly what my aunt said to me. Definitely hope it's nekked because I love that velvet touch (and my roommate doesn't want a cat with hair, but we'll see). Hearing from you all that I should adopt another if I'm feeling up for it definitely solidifies my conviction that I should get a buddy for my little girl. I'm feeling much better and of course Kilo is getting a double helping of attention, although she can NEVER get enough! So I'm going to keep my eye open for any loves that need adopting, of course paying special attention to sphynx rescue threads!

Sorry sorry for your loss. Bless you for taking Sawyer with all his problems and giving him a forever home filled with love. I think a friend for Kilo would be a great idea.

I am so sorry for your loss of Sawyer, may he rest in peace... It sounds like you gave him a wonderful life and did everything you could to help him. Somewhere there's a lucky kitty waiting to help heal your heart and keep Kilo company.
