Hi everyone.. I’m new here and looking for advice if anyone can help me.. I have a 9 month old Sphinx and around September time I noticed some small dark brown mole type spots on the side of his head near his ear they didn’t seem to bother him so I have just left it but now in just 3 months they have multiplied still in the same area and still looking the same there are just more of them (please see pics from September to now) I have spent so long searching online to see what these can be as the bills for skin scraping is so high and I don’t want to have to put my little Rolex through that if it’s not necessary.. can anyone tell me if they have saw these mole type spots before and if I should be concerned at all. Thank you so much to anyone who can help.

does it come off eoth coconut oil / warm wash cloth?
Is he rubbing his head on things like sisal rope on cat trees ?

Hi thanks for getting back to me. I have tried to wash it off in the bath but it doesn’t come off you can see that it his his skin too not just something on him. I haven’t seen him rubbing his head on anything and only his claws on the sisal rope on his cat tree just confused at what it could be that’s caused it.

Does he have any other spots ? Check under his arm butt belly paws..
Have you changed litter or food ?
Can you show the pic to your vet ? Always best to check with your vet to rule out what it is

I’ve checked him all over and no spots anywhere else only there on his face. I think I would have to take him to the vets I did call but they said they would need to see him and that the skin scrapping is £205 I was so shocked!

I’m going to be completely honest with you that those definitely look like moles to me. The only way to tell for sure if they are malignant is to look at them under the microscope. Unfortunately you may have to go for that skin scraping.

If they are malignant, then yes. You’d have to get them assessed by a vet first.
