I am sorry to keep asking for prayers for this little guy, but once again I am needing them. Sunday(?) night I got a text from the breeder at 1 am that said she thought Kazoo had a fever. She couldn't find her thermometer and said she would let me know what was going on in the morning.
Well in the morning he had no fever but had had diarrhea all over her couch. He had to have a bath so she made him a vet appointment. He was eating and playing and considering he was always trying to help the kids eat we figured that was what caused the diarrhea.
He didn't make it to the vet yesterday because one of her kids was sick, but she had rescheduled for today. Before she took him in she mentioned that he was growling at all the other cats and wanted to be away from them. He wanted to snuggle with her. She said he felt something "squishy" on his side too.
Turns out the vet thinks he has an abscess so he is now on antibiotics and will have a recheck in two weeks. He was having a recheck to see if he could come home at the end of August anyway so hopefully this will clear and we can proceed as planned. He does have a fever today and the vet said the suspected abscessed area on his side is not attached so the meds should clear it.
I am nervous. I do not know how much longer I give this little guy before I move on. With my career and having to be away having more special needs that Vito is worrisome. Of course I love Kazoo and I am not one to give up on him. I know where I can get a kitten locally in a few more months, but I cannot have 3 cats here and the boarding fees for 2 are crazy enough never mind three. I would still take Kazoo in a heart beat even with 2 cats. He was meant to be mine, he was the only boy in my litter.
Please send lots of good healing vibes that this is a simple infection and not cancer or some manifestation of his unknown original illness.
Thanks.
