I've had more than one cat at a time since 1994 and I've always known which cat is meowing without even seeing them.
A few weeks ago, my three boys were behind a closed door and a friend of mine was over. We heard meowing and I automatically said, "Liam, you can't come out right now, Honey." And my friend was bewildered. She said to me, "How in the world do you know who that was?" I said, "Watch, I'll open the door and you will only see Liam right now." Sure enough, I opened the door and it was only Liam. Later on...it was Simon. My friend was blown away.
Rarely do I ever mix up their voices.
How about you? If you have multiple cats, without looking, do you know who it is when you hear meowing?
