My beloved Oogie Boogie Monster

I'm sure many of you will remember me - I've been MIA for quite awhile, but I know my cats had alot of fans here! Sadly, my beloved Oogie returned to heaven about 7:30 MST this morning. It was a very sudden death, we suspect he died of HCM - Complicated by fluids when he collapsed and we weren't sure why. After the fluids he started breathing hard, and it was downhill from there. He went into cardiac arrest, and we just couldn't bring him back Run free my sweet Oogie, my heart will never heal, you took such a large piece with you! You where my first, you got me hooked, every sphynx I save owes it's life to you!

Oh Lydia.... I'm so sorry to hear about Oogie. Give yourself time to heal and grieve and try to stay strong for your other babies.

Have you thought about having him donate is heart to the HCM research? It would help so many other Sphynx kitties, so we all can have healthy kitties in the future.

Oh Lydia, I am so very sorry. You certainly have had a hard time lately....Oogie was loved and he knew you would do anything for him. I'm sure Jamie and everybody else you've lost met him at the Bridge to help him across. He's in God's arms now....where he won't ever be in pain or sick again. And I bet he is there with all the others telling them what a wonderfully loving and caring mommy he had. You are a remarkable woman and I know how deeply you love your animal kids. Please know we care and share your sorrow.

Thank you all, I'm just so at a loss right now. I can't think straight I miss him so bad, and poor Haley is making matters worse, poor girl is as heart broken as I am, walking through the house calling for him, she just doesn't understand and watching her grieve is just breaking my heart that much more! I know I need to try to stay upbeat, and remember the many good times we shared, but right now I just can't.

Oh Lydia I am so sorry to hear of your loss!!!! I just lost my Nubis back in October, and there are days it still feels like the day it happened. I miss him always. I don't think these losses are anything we ever get over, I think we just learn to live differently after them, as we are changed forever. Their love stays with us forever, and our love stays with them forever. My heart goes out to you. Grieve and cry as much as you want...

Thank you all for your loving words and support. I appreciate it! I wish I could say I'm doing better today, but I'm really not, I feel so hollow and empty! It's so hard, for over a year he was my one and only! Only because of my love for him did I finally reach out and adopt others! He taught me the joy of the nakeds, I can't make myself wash his buggers off the wall (he was a chronic snotter from the day he came home - Spent thousands but no vet could ever resolve it!), I can't make myself take down the curtains or wash his bedding - Not now. My poor Haley is breaking my heart worse, she just doesn't understand where he is. She spent over an hour just digging to china in the litter box - I think she can still smell him in there. She searches the house over and over calling for him. I just don't know how to comfort her! She had a hard time when we lost her sister shortly after I rescued them, I thought now that she was settled this time would be easier for her, but it's just not - Haley just doesn't handle change well!

Thank you so much everyone for your love and support, it's been a very emotional and heartbreaking few days. Haley's finally starting to do a bit better - Finally got her to eat tonight without forcing her to, so I think she'll be ok. I miss him so much, he was so special in so many ways - They'll never be another like him, he will always be the one I think of foundly every time I help a Sphynx in need, or bring another into my life. Rest in peace my booger monster, you where loved more then you'll ever know!
