My Daenerys

My sweet little Daenerys--Dani--only 3 passed away today from Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). It took less than a week to go from healthy to gasping for breath. Little Maerlyn and I shall miss her so very much. Here's a graphite sketch I did of her just 3 days ago. I think I knew something was very seriously wrong but just didn't want to give in to those thoughts. For some reason, I can't upload Dani's portrait. I'll add her photo. She's sitting above Maerlyn.

I've lost pets over the years and I lost a sphynx kitten too. When I lost my other pets that I loved dearly, I cried for a few months. When I lost my sphynx, I felt like I was never going to stop crying. I carried her ashes upstairs and downstair, from room to room and keeping them by my bedside each night. I finally stopped doing that.
Just give yourself time. Lots of time. As much time as you need. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You have to grieve at your own pace. Soon you will be smiling again and laughing again, but your baby will always be in your heart and never forgotten.

Thank you Zab. Right now my home seems so empty without Dani--even my Merlin feels the loss. We cuddle and hug, but he still is grieving. She just brought a sparkle to our home.
