My Dear Sweet Jedi

Last night he didnt want to eat and he looked a bit constipated, this morning when the husband and I got up for work he looked like he had swallowed a softball, his breathing was labored and he was cold. by the time we got him to the vet he was in cardiac arrest and was fading fast. the vet did an xray and he was full of fluid and from what i understand the vet believes suffing from the final stages of hcm. we had never seen any signs, the vet had never seen any signs. he went from fine to having to be laid to rest in 12 hours. i am shocked and heart broken.

That damn disease! Oh, my dear friend-I am more sorry than I can express. We've talked on the phone and you know everything I could say to you here already. Just know you and your husband and Spencer will see him again. I believe that with every fiber of my being. Jedi knew he was loved and would never want you to be afraid to love again for fear of losing them again. That would be allowing HCM to win. And we have to fight it with everything we've got. Never, ever surrender to it. Take up the fight for Jedi--he did all he could do to fight it, now it's up to us to take it from there. There is another baby out there looking for you and the special love you have to give. I know there is. And I believe Jedi will see to it that this baby finds you. And it will be a great way to honor the memory of your sweet little guy. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this boy was loved--and that is everything. You have been great parents to him and I am so sorry. Please know you're not alone in your sorrow. We grieve with you.

Oh Susi <3 you are such a good friend to me i feel so very bonded with you and ive only met you once! crazy i say. jedi knew he was spoiled and loved i have no doubt in that but he will be so very very missed. its just so shocking like i had no time to process this at all. i am positive there is a kitten out there for us, i hope you might help us with that haha. i will remember him so fondly. the silly things he did, how he ran off with everything and how he slept on my husbands chest, without fail, everynight.

me too. me too. i just can't believe it. I miss him so very much already. he had such a sad life before us and it took us months to get him well. he has been so kitten like and so happy the last 8 months or so and now this. I just can;t believe it.

I know that nothing anyone can say can fill that hole in your heart right now. Please know that if there was anything I could do to take away some of the pain, I would and I feel that I am speaking for everyone here when I say this.

Although I have been a part of this community for only a short time, I worry when other babies are sick, celebrate their arrivals and accomplishments, and mourn when they pass. I take comfort in knowing that Jedi did not suffer a long, drawn out battle, but I know it doesn't make his passing any easier.

Rest in peace, Jedi, and look over your mommy, daddy, and Spencer.
