My Kitten

Hello Cat Lovers,

My young kitten has a heart murmur. He is around 6 months old. Has anyone had the same problem with your kitten? Any ideas on my kitten Mr. Skin? Thank You

Hi and Welcome to the Lair. Did the vet give you any indication as to the severity of Mr Skin's murmer? One thing I have learned from reading on this site is that it is not uncommon in young kittens and often they resolve by the time they are a year(?). I know there are other members whose kittens have had this issue, hopefully they will chime in and give you some good advice.

As Caloci said, it's not uncommon to have a murmur at a young age, in fact i have heard too many times that they take the cat back to the vet a few weeks later and its gone. Hi & welcome to the Lair! I've also read about kittens having murmurs at a young age that they simply "grow" out of. They can also be caused by stress so I wouldn't be too alarmed just yet

Welcome to the family! Don't worry too much at this point about a murmur....they do often go away.
