As some of you know my 2 year old was getting tested today and I got the results. I was just wondering if any of you loving kitty parents could shed some light or any advice to keep my angel around as long as possible. Thanks for taking the time to help!

Best advice I can give is to check their breathing rate 2 times a day. Normal resting rate is 15-30 breaths a minute...give or take...keep in mind could be 20-40 etc. You need to make sure they are totally at rest. Best if you can monitor when they are sleeping. Start a log and find your baby’s normal rate...any continued uptick or sudden change get to your vet. @Rick
Have you reached out to your breeder for extra support? They can often be a wonderful resource as well and help them look at their bloodlines etc.

I would request an additional med called Pemobenden. It is specifically for heart failure.

What brand should I get?

Get CVS 1000 mg fish oil softgels
If you don't find that, get Nature Made 1000 mg fish oil softgels

Both have about 300 mg of omega 3's.

Give 1 softgel per day. You need to make a little incision on it and squeeze the oil out. Be sure you point the incision down at the food - it seems obvious but I have been careless and squirted the oil right at myself before. You don't want to walk around smelling like fish

Well after going into heart failure a third time this month I had to put my baby down. The hardest thing I ever had to do..

What should i expect in my other cat? Is she going to be depressed losing her friend?

They are all different. Some truly mourn like we do...others adjust quickly. Try not to attach our human emotions of loss and really just see how your other cat does. Extra playtime and of course cuddle time will help them and you. Try to create a new norm and be consistent like throwing a blanket in the dryer and then having them snuggle with you at night.

Wow. As prepared as we can be, it always seems to come out of nowhere. I’m sorry you were robbed of so much time. It shouldn’t happen. Please hold tight to your remaining baby.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Letting go is never easy but take comfort that you gave him a great life and he knew he was loved.

I do believe that if your 2 babies were a bonded pair, the remaining one will miss her buddy. If your schedule allows you to give her extra time I'm sure it would help her.

I Understand your hesitation. All you can to is do your due diligence and find the best breeding possible. Or you can adopt and hope for the best. Either way there is no way to predict their length of life. We just appreciate the time we are gifted with them.
