@bluejay1919 sorry to hear Luna's bloodlevels are even worse and that feeding by tube is necessary. It must be so difficult to hear that Luna's is so sick without knowing what is going on.
Keep sending healing vibes to Luna and another hug to you.
Thanks for the updates, we're all so concerned about Luna.
It's very frustrating not knowing what has caused all of this. What I'm very concerned about is that she may not want to ever eat on her own. She has just not shown any interest in food since we very had her and with the feeding tube, I wonder if she will just be use to that and not want to eat. If that makes sense. I just want her to be healthy and happy...I'll do whatever it is I need to do to keep her well.

I really appreciate your hugs!

@bluejay1919 I'm just so sorry this is going on now and there are so many unknowns for you and your family. Once the vet gets her back to normal levels, she will feel better and of course, want to eat. So try not to make matters worse for yourself and go through the "what if's" right now. Take one day at a time and we're all hoping for the best for Luna and your family.

Hugs,
Robin

@bluejay1919 how is your little girl doing today? Thinking of you both.
I haven't heard from the vet today. My husband called yesterday evening and talked to the lady at the front desk and she just basically confirmed that the tube had been inserted. I guess the vet had already left for the day.

Hoping to hear from her today. It's been almost a week now.

@bluejay1919 that's awful that you didn't hear anything from the vet today. When all you can do is wait and keep your fingers crossed, it's so inportant to get all updates about your girl frequently. A week is such a long time. Hope you hear something tomorrow. Are you able to visit her?

@TaoandRoss I haven't been able to visit her. I've heard she is being super talkative and friendly to everyone though, which makes me smile. Sweet kitty

So sad, she's, had, to go through this.
I,wonder, if, she hides, through the day,
because, she, was mistreated, before, you got her?
Or, because, she's been, sick? Strange, she, will come
out, of the night, with love and trust.
I will continue to pray for her.

@HairlessBlessing ya know, we've wondered the same thing. When we got her she had dried urine all over her backside and extreme matted fur. I think the guy we bought her from (which I've learned from another, that he does this all the time) probably gave her the cheapest food and kept her in cage. Boy... If I could go back in time, I'd still take Luna without hesitation but I'd also give him a piece of my mind.

Thank you for your prayers. I knew this was the right place to come for support and advice.

Update today. Sorry I haven't given a sooner updated but I haven't heard much since they inserted the feeding tube.

So, since Monday she hadn't had a bowel movement. That would make this the 3rd week without a poop. They have been giving her 4-5 small meals since then and she was acting depressed, sluggish and not talking or moving much. That had them worried. Then finally yesterday, she ate a bit of her own wet food and pooped.. A normal poop! We got the chance to go visit her yesterday evening. They will keep her through the weekend and hopefully we can have her back sometime next week.

She was so happy to see us! It made my heart smile to see how sweet she is and loving even through all this. She had plenty of head rubs and chin scratches.

More than likely she will come home with the feeding tube but after seeing her, she didn't seem to mind it at all. She had hot pink medical tape holding the tube in her neck, tape around her foot holding the IV's in and several shaved spots all over her body. She looks rough but I could see it in her big eyes that she does feel better.

I will get back, hopefully with pictures next week when we finally get to bring her home.

@bluejay1919 so happy to hear that you can see that spark back in Luna's eyes. I hope she's on the road to recovery now and you can bring her home after the weekend.

@TaoandRoss ya know she is a fighter! We have so much love for her and so many adventures we want to share with her. I feel like we were the ones that found her ad, for a reason.

Alrighty, so my hubby called the vet today, after no word from them. Unfortunately our vet that has been caring for her was off today but we talked to another vet ( it's a small town, small vet clinic, with 3 vets). She has had another poop today, which is good....

Sadly, there is bad news. She is not eating on her own. All weekend, she did not touch her food. She is living off of the feeding tube. This was my fear.

Her regular vet will be in tomorrow and we will discuss where to go from here.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that.
Hopefully you will get even more info tomorrow from your regular vet.
Sending so many healing vibes, and praying that she will want to eat on her own.

So sorry to hear Luna is still not eating on her own. I know she stopped eating while she was with you at home. But is it possible she doesn't start to eat now cause she misses you? I know with dogs that are very attachted to their humans this can happen.

Sending more healing vibes. Hope you get more info from the regular vet.
